Given its already existing open world filled with hoverbikes and orbital strikes, who could have ever thought Grand Theft Auto Online would get any wonkier? First introduced in the game's PS4 and Xbox One release, the peyote plant was an interesting side activity that made playing as Trevor all the more enjoyable. After he ingests the plant, Trevor then falls into a trippy trance and comes out the other side as an animal, which typically coincides with the area the plant was found in. It was last seen in GTA Online during a special October event last year and, with its updated inclusionthe funniest weapon in video games has now become the pug.

Where To Find Peyote

Peyote plants can be found throughout the world of GTA Online, players simply need to know where to look. If the locations on the map provided above are a bit too difficult to see, there are a plethora of others across the internet, plus GosuNoob has one of the most extensive lists with helpful photos of the 76 varied locations. Once found and ingested by pressing right on the D-pad, the Peyote plant takes full effect, changing the player into any number of the various wildlife occupying the world of GTA V. The possibilities are practically endless, what with deer, dogs, pigs, sharks, and so much more available for experimentation.

Unlike the transformations in singleplayer, which alter the player based on the area surrounding them, in Online the animalistic change is completely random, which only adds to the fun of it. There is, however, one specific location that allows players to transform into the big and hairy Sasquatch, a recurring staple in Grand Theft Auto's fictional San Andreas. A control scheme, which is different for each animal, will appear at the top left of the screen. The only way to change back into the in-game character is, sadly, by dying in one's animalistic form.

Reaching Your Inner Animal

In addition to the Peyote plant, Rockstar has also added more content from the awesome Spooktacular October event for the week of April 5-11. It's unclear how long the additions will remain in the game, but at least players can get to know their animal side most keenly for the time being. GTA Online definitely has its fair share of mayhem, but it's made all the more hilarious when in the aspect of a deer, eagle, or even a whale. Other players can even interact with the Peyote animals, so maybe Rockstar has something more in store for the plants going into the future.

For now, though, all GTA Online players will be busy getting to know nature at its most intimate level.
