Grand Theft Auto The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition (what a name) was confirmed to actually exist this week, although details on what to actually expect from it were scarce. But now, a listing on Base.com could have just leaked the price, revealing that it will be a full $70/£70 on both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The listing also lists the price for PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch as cheaper than the next-gen counterpart, at $60/£60.

The news was first reported by VGC, and has mostly been met with disappointment. One reply, for example, highlights how the current price of the trilogy online is £16.99.

While early retailer listings have indeed been a useful source of information in the past, it is always possible that some of the details are placeholders. For example, the current release date is listed as 31 December 2021, despite being expected much sooner than that in the year.

Without a specific release date set, it's possible that we'll be in for a bit of a wait until we get our next lot of information on the game. As it stands, this is all we have to go by on how much it will cost.

The Definitive Edition is taking the release window initially intended for the GTA 5 re-re-release that no one seems very excited about. While some are concerned about the price, this announcement is being met with much more praise.
