The Nintendo Switch is a runaway success and although it has a plethora of attractive features, the console's games are what make it stand out. The PlayStation 4 might have a slight edge in numbers concerning exclusives, but the Nintendo Switch launched years after Sony's platform.

The conversation is usually focused on Xbox One and PlayStation 4's exclusives, but what about the Nintendo Switch? We could honestly go on and on about why Nintendo Switch has the top exclusives. Nintendo Switch's games cost more, but the price of them is justified because of their polish and lack of bugs. This is a ranking of the 10 best Nintendo Switch exclusives.

10 Splatoon 2

Few could have predicted the explosive popularity of Splatoon 2 on the Nintendo Switch. Splatoon 2 deserves credit for being a unique game on the platform. The return of Inklings was warmly welcomed in this 4v4 action shooter.

This sequel contains new weapons, gear, and game modes. Playing modes such as Turf War and Salmon Run, players will discover the appeal of the game. There is also a ton of customization for each Inkling. Splatoon 2 has a little something for everyone.

9 Octopath Traveler

This turn-based role-playing game is often overlooked by those not familiar with the JRPG genre. Octopath Traveler has a unique combat system that involves the efforts of eight travelers who embark on eight spellbinding adventures. Reviews for the game were generally favorable. It's also worth noting that the visuals for Octopath Traveler are splendid. The turn-based combat makes it stand out from other games on this list. Gaining experience points for finishing battles is a thrill.

8 Super Mario Maker 2

Super Mario Maker 2 is, without a doubt, a significant upgrade over the original Super Mario Maker. The game revolves around building and sharing levels. Playing the creations of other players is a delight.

Although it's not available on the Nintendo 3DS like the original, the sequel is more feature-rich and contains a lengthy single-player campaign. The campaign, known as Story Mode, includes over 100 stages. Super Mario Maker 2 has a tremendous amount of content, making it an easy choice to purchase.

7 Pokémon Sword And Shield

Pokémon Sword and Shield are two of the most divisive games in the Pokémon series. They didn't accomplish all the things gamers hoped for, but the story was exciting and different from previous games. The Pokémon Company made bold choices with characters like Hop. The games remain faithful to the original formula but make changes that are for the better. Love them or not, it would be nearly impossible to leave them off of this list.

6 Luigi's Mansion 3

Spooky and ghoulish, Luigi's Mansion 3 is one of the most recent Nintendo Switch exclusives to grace the platform. The atmosphere of the game will leave you at a loss for words because of its high-quality visuals. This is a hauntingly beautiful game.

This time around, Luigi must combat poltergeists amid a creepy hotel. With appearances from amiable characters like Mario and Princess Peach, Luigi's Mansion 3 is not only an exceptional first-party title but debatably the best Luigi's Mansion game in the series.

5 Fire Emblem: Three Houses

This adventure game is yet another fine addition to the Fire Emblem series. It makes improvements but doesn't stray too far from the series' premise. In Fire Emblem: Three Houses, the player is a teacher of the three mighty houses of Officer's Academy. The story will keep you engaged, but the refined combat system is what will make sure you keep coming back.  While commanding armies, you'll be so intertwined in the gameplay that you won't want to put it down. Fire Emblem: Three Houses certainly belongs here.

4 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Winner of numerous 2018 fighting video game awards, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the strongest entry in the series. It contains the most robust roster of fighters and selection of stages. Using the game's Stage Builder mode, players can design and download creations, then play them. Character balancing is also close to perfection.

There is little Nintendo could've done to improve this game (aside from adding Dragon Ball's Goku), which is why it deserves a top placement on this list. If you only play one fighting game this year, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate would be a smart choice.

3 Super Mario Odyssey

Nintendo went back to its roots with more explorable levels and boss fights. Previous games in the Super Mario series have more focused level designs, which contrasts from this game's non-linear gameplay. Taking a page from games like Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Odyssey is more than what fans could've asked. Levels like New Donk City are both spacious and enchanting. If you haven't played Super Mario Odyssey, it's an excellent next-buy. It will keep you enthralled from start to finish.

For those who don't already know, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is a 3D remake of the hit 1993 Game Boy game. Set on Koholint Island, many of the game's traditional elements, such as the top-down perspective, remain intact. It also adds new features that bolster its enjoyability. You can even get a Yoshi doll by playing The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening's trade quest claw game! Small nuances like the Yoshi doll make this game even more exceptional than the original. We didn't even think that was possible.

1 The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

Winner of several accolades at The Game Awards 2017, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a masterpiece. There is so much to like about this entry. Its various puzzles (although tedious at times) are a joy to solve. Puzzles in BOTW appear in the form of

Shrines. There are 120 Shrines found throughout BOTW's immersive landscape. Also, a Shrine may also contain a boss fight or a band of enemies. There are too many reasons to love this Nintendo Switch exclusive, and it's one you can't miss!
