When people think of their favorite wrestling games, the storylines of the many games in the series have rarely been brought up. While it is fair to say that wrestling games don’t tend to feature the storytelling of games like Red Dead Redemption or The Last Of Us, they can still be quite interesting.

This story mode barely makes the cut thanks to the fact that it’s really more of a documentary mode than it is any kind of original story. With that said, there are people that love the The Attitude Era story even though it’s something they likely already experienced on TV.

You get to make your way through the iconic era, taking control of various iconic wrestlers in some of their most high-profile matches. You’ll likely know all the storylines featured, but it is a great way to relive a time that may feel rather nostalgic.

The entire story is fairly standard, but it’s a fun mode that lets you and a friend take control of two of the most popular wrestlers of the modern era. There aren’t many multiplayer stories to play in wrestling games, making this story a fun one to experience, especially toward the end.

Adding a bit of mystery into the standard wrestling story does make things a bit more interesting, and you even get to make a decision about who you believe the masked man is. This offers a bit of a branch in the story, and while it’s not much, it is a nice surprise that options were put into a story like that.

You get to create your own wrestler to rise up the ranks of the WWE in this fun little story. This forgotten story mode is actually incredibly replayable considering you can take two separate routes through it. You’ll have the option to join Raw or Smackdown to win a world championship.

Your choice doesn’t simply affect who you’ll be facing, instead, the choice decides your storyline and allies. If you join Raw, you’ll become a member of the famous stable, Evolution. If you choose Smackdown, you’ll be working alongside the iconic Undertaker.
