Yesterday at Numskull Games' February showcase, the publisher announced that Ground Shatter’s RICO London, a follow-up to 2019’s FSP RICO, is scheduled for release to PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch in June.

As the title suggests, the action in the new installment has moved to London. Using RICO’s two-player, bullet-time action, players will go after the bad guys in London’s criminal underworld. As we can see in the trailer, the game promises to maintain its arcade-style, which is inspired by modern action films.

“While everyone is getting ready to party the metropolitan police are working overtime,” official blurb reads. “Detective Inspector Redfern finds herself at the scene of an emerging arms trade at the foot of a high-rise tower. Without the permission of her superior or support of back-up, Redfern prepares to kick off the new Millennium with a bang.”

Although few details about RICO London have been revealed, the game will most like see players partner up to crack a organized crime case in twenty-four hours. Using tactical rather strategic planning, players must respond to shootouts in real-time, though they will have additional time to weigh the situation if they surprise their opponents. With plenty of ammo and enemies, the combat will surely be cinematic and electrifying.

Ground Shatter, based in Bristol, UK, was founded by James Parker, who came to the project with fifteen years of games industry experience across console, handheld, and mobile development. James idea for RICO was inspired by the high-energy buddy cop movies of the 1980s and 1990s.

In an interview with PC Games Insider, Parker said, "All aspects of the game can be played couch co-op, which is something I really wanted to do as some of my favourite memories of gaming are sitting around with a friend playing together in the same room.”

“I get the same reaction from people with similar memories of Halo, or Ghost Recon, or Rainbow Six: Vegas. Especially where lots of companies seem to have dropped co-op play, we're hoping to fill that niche, and create some of those memories afresh for people,” he added.
