This year's Grand Theft Auto V Halloween additions allow players to become aliens, animals, and, if you're extremely lucky, the elusive Bigfoot.

Six years on from the initial release of GTA V, the game is still as popular as it ever was. Having now sold more than 110 million copies, it has become the third best-selling game of all time behind Minecraft and Tetris. Rockstar continues to update the game's already vast online mode, hence why it has remained so popular for six whole years.

You might ask yourself what more Rockstar could possibly have left to add to GTA V. We have certainly asked ourselves that question. Although we love the latest additions to the game, which have been added as a means to celebrate Halloween, it might be a sign that the developer is finally running out of ideas.

The new survival mode allows players to assume the body of an alien. That alien is equipped with a laser and tasked with fending off FBI agents intent on capturing them for research purposes. It's simply GTA V's pre-existing survival mode tweaked slightly, but the change does make it feel fresh and entertaining. It's not quite as cool and addictive as the game's slasher mode, which was added during a previous Halloween update, but it's still worth a try.

The other changes to the game are a little stranger. Players are being given the opportunity to transform into different animals, including cats, dogs, rabbits, and maybe even some others that haven't been discovered yet. While playing online, you'll need to track down one of 75 peyote plants dotted around Los Santos. If you're having trouble finding them, don't panic. Other players already have their permanent locations mapped out.

Should you eat a particular plant at a particular time under a particular weather condition, your GTA V character will transform into Bigfoot. This is not an urban gaming myth, it's actually for real, as you can see from the screenshot above. It takes a fair bit of know-how and also a pinch of luck to pull it off, though. We're also currently unsure as to everything GTA Bigfoot is capable of, so beware.
