The griefers of every GTA Online lobby. Flying an aircraft without weapons? Here comes an Oppressor. Casually delivering some cars for a vehicle business? Not so fast. While not everyone is out to get you, GTA fans can't be blamed for the feeling of anxiety as the Oppressor MK II symbol moves closer.

Fortunately, there are some ways to avoid the stress of dealing with the nuisance that is the Oppressor user jetting across the skies with a 10.0 KD (Kills/Deaths) ratio without closing the application.

11 Counter-attack with the Pyro

Pyro GTA Online Jet

Oppressor MK II users waste countless rounds of homing missiles as their rockets explode into thin air. The Pyro is capable of out-pacing homing missiles using the rudders.

Watch on as a tailing Oppressor wastes 20 rockets and is forced to go and reload; this is when the pilot should turn around and launch a counter-attack. The Pyro will be untouchable if not attacked from the front, so keep an eye on the map.

10 Fight on Foot

GTA Online Minigun Grand Theft Auto V

Users driving around will quickly be swallowed up by an incoming Oppressor — there's no hope once the homing missiles lock on. Have a solid assault rifle on hand (preferably with armor-piercing rounds or explosive rounds) and shoot the griefer from the skies once at a low-enough altitude.

The minigun's high fire-rate is a quick way to take down an Oppressor at the first time of asking. Don't stay behind walls for too long to avoid having to dodge missiles being spammed nearby.

9 Find an Empty Public Lobby

GTA Online Public Lobby Empty

Conducting business in a busy lobby is a gamble. There are always griefers waiting around to troll — and especially Oppressors. Therefore, an empty public session is vital for delivering cars or completing setups.

Starting a race and quitting to free mode at the end will normally give a player an unpopulated lobby. If that doesn't work, try repeatedly finding a new session and Rockstar will eventually provide an empty public session for players and any friends they wish to invite for important business missions.

8 God-Mode Nightclub Rumpo Custom Van

GTA Rumpo Custom Godvan Nightclub

The use of the God-Mode is one of the things that Rockstar needs to improve in GTA Online, but at least night club van users can still be killed when shot through the window (so it's not completely unbeatable!)

The 'god van' can't be blown up with explosives, which means it flips the odds against an Oppressor MK II. Be sure to go for the 50 cal machine gun on top which is easier to handle while driving around at speed, and apply maximum protection to the windows to avoid being killed by the police.

7 Use a Sniper Rifle with Explosive Rounds

A GTA marksman can take down Oppressors quickly when connecting with the powerful sniper with explosive rounds unlocked by research at the bunker.

It's a little bit of effort trying to get the game to select the incendiary rounds as GTA picks the next unlock at random, but users have some control by sitting at the laptop when the research is about to change (the bar will be pretty much to the top once it reveals the next unlock): just close the application if it's not the desired one and respawn back to the bunker.

6 Fight From Cover

GTA Construction Site Sniper Tower

MK IIs struggle to lock on in parking lots and construction sites. The unfinished sky-scraper building site is a good place to go if locked in a battle with an Oppressor griefer.

The scaffolding provides multiple levels of cover and is a perfect spot for a sniper to set traps with proximity mines littered around the area for extra protection. Players should stick to the mid-levels to avoid being caught out from above.

5 Use the Teleport Strategy

GTA Online Quick Job Teleport Method GTA Online

Ever been closing in on someone and notice they disappear to the other side of the map? It's possible for GTA players to teleport to different destinations by joining a job from the phone and then leaving to respawn back into the session at a different location.

Use this when struggling for a strong tactical position to avoid being pinned down and killed multiple times in a row. A setback with this is Rockstar's frustrating loading times, which should soon improve after a GTA fan figured out why it takes so long to get into a lobby.

4 Register as a CEO and Activate Ghost Organization

Three minutes off the radar is a long time in GTA. That's around the time it takes to fly to Cayo Perico, but it's also enough to finish an important public lobby mission or take action against an Oppressor MK II.

This option is only available to users with an organization which means owning an office - and ghosting costs just $12,000. Non-CEO's can go off the radar by calling Lester for a reduced time of just 60 seconds.

3 Orbital Cannon

GTA Online Orbital Cannon Facility

This is for when you've completely had enough. An Oppressor user will often run into one of the rich guys of GTA Online who can use orbital cannon strikes at the same rate they buy new threads from Binco.

If you have the money, this is a sure-fire way of dealing with an Oppressor MK II, but beware — each strike costs $750,000 to guarantee a kill — so don't be too hasty with the trigger. This could be one for the Los Santos billionaires club.

2 Passive Mode

This would probably the last resort, but if GTA fans really can't be bothered with a griefer looking to expand a kill/death ratio with unfair matchups, there's no harm in resorting to passive mode temporarily.

Passive mode is also a good way to launch a counter-attack by keeping safe until reaching a vehicle that is capable of attacking — or to simply get rid of a nuisance in an online session. GTA fans shouldn't let griefers spoil their experience.
