One of the most highlighted features of GTA V was the entirely revamped and unique online multiplayer experience that came in the form of GTA Online. This means that the game does not end once you’re done with the single-player mode, in fact, with GTA Online, you now have a huge amount of content that never gets boring even though it was released almost 4 years ago. It is impossible to detail every little activity that can be done, but that’s a good thing since it can keep players involved until Rockstar decides to come up with the next Grand Theft Auto game.

GTA Online includes all of the murder and mayhem that you’ve come to expect from a GTA game except that you can now do all of this with your friends or other people on the internet. It is a pretty competitive area where you have to be on the constant lookout to survive and slowly climb the ladders of success in Los Santos. Because of this, it can be very important to be aware of certain tricks which will give you an edge in the hostile world of GTA Online. 25 Getting A Special Vehicle As Personal Vehicle

A lot of you might be wondering why getting a special vehicle as your personal ride might be important. Well, that’s because the timer for calling in a personal vehicle is considerably less than that of a special vehicle. This essentially allows you to get all those special vehicles delivered quickly.

To make this trick work, you need to order a rare special vehicle and then create a playlist with just a single race. We recommend racing on “Criminal Records” since it is the quickest race there is. As you finish the race, you will be dropped back into the free mode. Next, open up your interaction menu, and you should see that the timer for the special vehicle still has some time left depending on how quickly you finished the race. However, you can still request a personal vehicle, and when you do that, you will notice that the special vehicle you had ordered has been delivered instead.

24 Track Other Players For Revenge

As it is famously said, revenge is a dish best served cold. This could not be truer than in the case of GTA Online. It’s frustrating when you get killed by another player especially when you’re just minding your own business. So, how do you track them down for some good ol’ fashioned revenge?

Luckily, Rockstar has implemented a way of tracking down players that are in your lobby. This can be extremely useful if your enemy has a forgettable username like “Player236798.” Simply access the “Info” tab which can be found in the main menu of the game, and you will be provided with a summary of all your recent actions. From here, you can check out the name of the player that you wish to target and simply “highlight” them from the contacts app in your in-game phone.

23 Climbing The Office Furniture

Don’t you just wish that you could climb up on all of that beautiful furniture inside your CEO office? Think of all the amazing Snapmatic shots you could take or better yet, prank your friends as you watch them fail to figure out how to get it done.

Simply walk over to any of your office furniture equipment, this could be the main table or the desk and then pull up the interaction menu which allows you to change the office décor. As you do this, you will notice that you’re inside this screen where you can’t do much other than selecting the décor. Simply go back by pressing the relevant back button to the original office interior you had while moving yourself forward onto the object. If you do everything correctly, you should now be standing on top of the furniture.

22 Access Secret Building At The Los Santos Airport

Rockstar has hidden a lot of things throughout the game in GTA Online but did you know that there is a building with a secret interior inside of it? Now, we’re not sure whether this is something the developers plan on using in a next update, or they just left it behind on purpose but it is cool nonetheless.

To access this building, you need to grab a helicopter or a Buzzard and fly out to the platform with the blue dome at the Los Santos International Airport. Next, you need to land it in a way that the blades of the helicopter end up almost touching the building. Climb onto the blades and then from there, you can easily jump on the top of the building. Walk across the center until you reach the ledge and look below. If everything went correctly, you should fall through inside the building and can easily see the weird interior.

21 Save Waypoints To All Your Favorite Locations

Sometimes it completely sucks to come across a really cool location but then you end up forgetting where it was when you need to find it again to perhaps show your friends or throw a party. This is because Rockstar hasn’t provided a method for storing permanent waypoints to your favorite locations.

There is a very simple solution to this problem. When you’re at some place, the location of which you’d like to remember, then simply take out your in-game smartphone and take a selfie or a photo of that place. The photo app allows you to select a waypoint to wherever you’ve taken a photo, allowing you to easily bookmark some of the most important locations or hiding spots in the game that you could visit with your friends later.

20 Better Ping Means Better Position On The Grid

During all of the races that you have participated in, have you ever wondered how the starting positions on the racing grid are determined? This is important because your placement on the grid can essentially determine how well you are going to perform in a race.

As it turns out, Rockstar has developed a method which basically decides the position of each player using their ping. A lot of people might think that this would give an unfair advantage to some players but think about it, there really isn’t any other way for the game to determine who gets to be placed first on the grid. So, if you’re the person who always ends up in the back before the race then it has got nothing to do with the game but it’s your ping instead that is responsible for positioning you last.

19 Get A Turbo Start During A Race

Don’t you just wish that you could get a head start on all of your competitors in a race? After all, a good start can be the deciding factor between winning or losing an important race.

Thankfully, Rockstar has their own way of allowing players to achieve the perfect start at the beginning of any race. It is referred to as the turbo start and will only happen if you are able to floor the accelerator (in-game) at the exact same time as the word “Go!” shows up on-screen. There is also a reward if you’re consistent with this technique since 50 turbo starts will get you a new set of colors from your vehicles at the Los Santos Customs.

18 Calling Your Single Player Friends

The phone system was first introduced around in GTA IV, but GTA V decided to kick this up a notch allowing for a sense of realism that didn’t exist before. This, of course, translated into GTA Online as well making it a crucial part of the game.

Though it might seem that there is no way of getting in touch with your friends who are busy playing the single-player game, the truth is that you can easily annoy them just for the fun of it. All you need to do is select their name from the contact list on your phone and hit “Call.” This creates a really unique experience and goes on to show all of the efforts that Rockstar put into making GTA Online the best video game experience around.

17 Commit Suicide To Avoid Medical Bills

This is one trick that a lot of you might be a little bit hesitant to try out but trust us, it can make a lot of sense in certain situations and could be your only sensible way out of it.

We understand if you’re not the sort of person who gives up and is willing to fight to the death but consider this situation, you’ve got yourself into trouble somehow and now you’re running around with a four-star wanted level with the entire Los Santos police on your tail. If you end up dying or are arrested, your medical expenses and the amount required to bail you can easily scale up depending on the money you have. In comparison, committing suicide is only going to cost you $500 so it’s well worth it.

16 Get Two Pegasus Vehicles Out At Once

In GTA Online, Pegasus is responsible for offering players with vehicles that normally cannot be stored inside the player garage. Most of these can be bought from in-game websites and then delivered to a predetermined location. The only problem here is that you can only use one Pegasus vehicle at a time so if you were planning on giving one to your friend, you’d be out of luck.

However, something that a lot of people don’t know is that getting two Pegasus vehicles out at a time is possible, only that it requires a small trick. For this to work, you will need another friend to help you out. Simply order a Pegasus vehicle, in our case we ordered an Insurgent pickup, and then drive it all the way to your CEO office. Leave the vehicle outside for your friend to climb in and enter the office building. Go up to your assistant and order the same Pegasus vehicle as the one that you left outside. As you exit the office building, you will notice that while your friend is inside your vehicle, a new one has been delivered for you as well.

15 Capture The Perfect Cinematic Shots While Driving

Most of you are already aware of the fact that pressing the B button on Xbox or the circle button on PlayStation allows you to enter a cinematic mode while driving. This can be great for capturing some excellent shots for a video. However, it gives you some really random angles if you flick left or right on the thumb stick making it difficult to drive.

Flick the thumb stick up though and you should get this view where the camera rotates to the left or right of the car essentially making it seem as if you’re riding alongside the car. The really cool thing is that this is a nice view for driving as well and not erratic at all unlike some of the other ones. This gives you an excellent opportunity to capture some great cinematic shots while driving.

14 View A Mercenary Live Feed From The House

It can be fun to cause all sorts of chaos and mayhem with your character in GTA Online but do you know what’s even better? Hiring some mercenaries and muggers to mess around with the other players in the game. Mercenaries can essentially track down and assassinate your targets while muggers can knock them out and steal all their cash.

All this wouldn’t really be fun, however, if you’re not around to witness all the action yourself. Thankfully, Rockstar has a solution for that as well. Once you have placed a bounty on a player, you can then head home and switch on your TV to view a live feed and enjoy as your sinister plan unfolds without having to worry about getting shot in the back of your head.

13 Riding NPC Vehicles As A Passenger

While it is possible to ride the taxi in the regular game, Rockstar decided to remove this feature in GTA Online. This makes sense because the entire premise of the game revolves around stealing cars. So, what do you do if you’re in dire need of an NPC driver?

Well, a small trick will allow you to do exactly that but you’re going to need the help of another of your friends. Simply have one of your friends stop a car by throwing the driver out of their seat and then taking over. As this happens, you should go ahead and climb into the back seat of the vehicle. When the NPC gets back up, they will pull your friend out to regain control of their vehicle and drive off but will continue to ignore you in the back seat. The only problem with this is that you cannot select your destination as the NPC will just randomly drive around the city.

12 Accessing All The Choppers

A chopper or any other flying vehicle for that matter can be a great asset in the world of GTA Online. The only slight issue here is that the airport is a bit more secure than it is in the regular game. Fear not though as it can still be easily accessed from the Flight School.

Simply head on to where the stairs of the Flight School are and jump over the wall separating it from the airport. Using this method, the airport security will not come after you, and you can take your time to stroll around before getting into the helicopter that can be found on the helipad. Some of the other places where you can find a chopper are at a helipad near Vespucci Beach, on the roof of the Los Santos Medical Centre and on the airstrip located in the Grand Senora Desert.

11 Fast Travel Across The Map

Stealing cars and driving across the map can be a lot of fun but what if you need to get on the other side of the map quickly? Rockstar doesn’t really offer a fast travel option. Luckily, there is a neat little trick that you can use to get this done.

To make this work, you need to simply select a race near the destination where you plan to fast travel. This can be done by hovering the cursor over the main map and selecting the “Launch Job” option. Next, you need to select “Play” from the menu and wait for the lobby screen to show up. As soon as you see the screen, just hit quit and you will find yourself being dropped at the location where the race was supposed to happen. Congratulations, you have successfully fast traveled across the map.

10 Make Money By Selling Cars

There are probably a hundred different ways of making money in GTA Online and rightfully so because it is a very important aspect of the game. So, what can you do if you run out of cash and are looking for a quick way of making some money?

This is where the Los Santos Customs comes in. All you need to do is steal a vehicle with some decent value and then head to the nearest Los Santos Customs. Once you enter the shop, it will provide you with the option to sell the vehicle. One thing that should be kept in mind is that only cars with a certain value can be sold meaning that the really fancy ones will be turned away. We suggest keeping a lookout for the Lampadati Felon and the Gallivanter Baller, both of which can fetch you a good $9,000.

9 Get Insurance On That Vehicle

Similar to the real-world, you’d definitely want to put some money down on getting insurance on that new and fancy car you just got. This is important because some douchebag is bound to steal or destroy your precious vehicle at some point in GTA Online.

Once you have insurance, you can easily get an immediate replacement if something ends up happening to your vehicle. You will need to pay a small fee every time you do this though, which is normally only 10 percent of the insurance premium you initially paid. Also, keep in mind that the first car you end up taking to the Los Santos Customs during the game tutorial will be getting some free insurance so make sure that your decision is made wisely.

8 Save Your Money In The Bank

We have already discussed how you can make some quick cash by selling stolen cars but another method of getting some money is by killing other players. This isn’t really an ethical thing to do but then again, GTA Online was never about ethics to begin with. Unfortunately, this also means that you can become an easy target yourself.

Because of this, the biggest mistake you can make is carrying a large sum of money around with you. If you are killed while carrying less than $5,000, you will only drop $100. Anything more than that and you’ll not only drop the $100 but all of the excess money as well. It is always safe to deposit your money into the bank by simply using your in-game phone. Just make sure to check your surroundings and avoid any ATMs since they’ll definitely get you killed.

7 Claiming A Free Sports Car

Who doesn’t like free stuff? We certainly do! A free ride and especially one that is a sports car can go a long way in GTA Online. The easiest way of doing this is by simply connecting your Social Club account to your PSN or Xbox Live accounts, depending on the console that you play the game on.

When you finally decide to buy your first property, you will have the choice to purchase the Elegy RH8 sports car from the Legendary Motorstorm website. The colors can be completely customized and the best thing of all, it won’t cost you a single penny. Another freebie that you can get by linking the accounts is a shotgun which can be picked up from any ammunition store inside the game.

6 Choose John Marston As The Father

Do you remember John Marston? Well, anyone who has played Red Dead Redemption would certainly remember him quite well. For those who haven’t played the game, John Marston is the protagonist of this acclaimed western, action-adventure game by Rockstar.

In true GTA easter egg fashion, John Marston can be selected as one of the parents in the character creation portion of GTA Online. You should be signed up with Social Club, however, to access this option. All you need to do is scroll down until you come across “Dad’s Mother/Dad’s Father” and then either press “Y” on Xbox or “Triangle” on the PlayStation to select Marston as your character’s parent. If you’re the few lucky ones who ended up buying the Collector’s Edition of the game then you can also choose Niko Bellic (GTA IV) and Claude or Misty (GTA III) as the parents.
