There are currently a number of UFOs hovering ominously above Los Santos in GTA Online, presumably to celebrate Halloween.
Halloween might be over for another year, but the events happening to mark the holiday in various games are still ongoing. Zombies continue to spawn randomly in Fortnite and scare the life out of you in the process, and GTA Online's Halloween-inspired in-game rewards will remain active for a few more days. Not to mention the UFOs that have been spotted above Los Santos.
Well, spotted might actually be an understatement at this point. The word spotted implies only a few people have seen them and the rest of the virtual world isn't convinced they exist. That was the case a few days ago when GTA's UFOs would disappear if you tried to approach them. Those same UFOs have now ceased hiding and are all hovering ominously above the city.
While the alien crafts will no longer disappear when you approach them, it still appears to be impossible to get a closer look. As you can see in the video above, they are hovering incredibly high in the air. The only way to reach them would be by plane or helicopter. However, they are emitting some sort of EMP which renders vehicles useless should they get too close.
As for what the aliens plan on doing next remains a mystery. GTA Online's community has been wildly speculating, of course, with a few thinking this might be something to do with the reveal of GTA 6. As is often the case with GTA 6 speculation, there's nothing to suggest aliens will be the ones to finally confirm the game exists. People are just so desperate for any official news on the project that anything and everything that happens in-game at this point is linked to GTA's next chapter.
If you want to take a look at the UFOs for yourself, you'll need to make sure you're playing GTA Online during a night cycle. The spaceships only do their hovering once the sun has gone down. Perhaps they will leave at some point this week, their purpose for visiting never revealed, or maybe aliens will descend from them at some point and give the residents of Los Santos something else to worry about.
