Some vehicles will be faster in GTA Online when the enhanced version of the game arrives on next-gen consoles later this year, but no changes are being made to the PC version for now.

Even though GTA 5 was released on consoles that are now two generations old, the behemoth of a game still shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, before the end of this year, enhanced and expanded versions of GTA 5 will arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game will, of course, look better than ever before, but beyond that what exactly Rockstar has planned remains something of a mystery.

A little more has been revealed today via a new press release from the studio. Changes to the game's vehicles. Not only will they be more aesthetically pleasing on new consoles, but they will also be faster. The announcement is somewhat hidden in the release which focuses on a vehicle-based update coming to GTA Online next week.

A fleet of customizable vehicles will be added to GTA Online via the Los Santos Turners update on July 20, 2021. Noted in the update is a sentence regarding speed boosts that will be available for some cars. However, that added extra won't be here until the fall and it will only be available to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players.

There's no mention of the update also coming to PC, which might have those of you who play GTA Online on that platform a little worried. Speculation as to what Rockstar has planned for the PC version of the game remains rife. It's possible the enhanced and expanded upgrade for PS5 and Series X also comes to PC, but not until a little while after, possibly at some point in 2022. That is yet to be confirmed or even mentioned by Rockstar.

News that this feature won't be coming to PC, at least not yet, is turning this into something of a bad news week for those who game on the platform. Earlier this week, EA dropped its first trailer for FIFA 22, revealing that the game will be the first in the series to utilize hypermotion. However, you guessed it, that feature will not be included in the PC version of the next installment in the FIFA series.
