Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition launched earlier this month to less than stellar reviews. That's actually putting it mildly. Its user scores on Metacritic fell far below those of eFootball. Konami's Pro Evo reboot appeared to be a shoo-in for the worst game of 2021, but according to a lot of people to have played The Trilogy, Rockstar's offering is a late and surprising contender for that unwanted award.

Rockstar has admitted The Trilogy isn't up to snuff, so if you are displeased with what you've seen so far then just hang in there. The collection also has its own page on Nexus Mods for those of you playing on PC that want to fix some of the issues yourselves. If you can't look past its problems for now, The Trilogy can be just as much fun as the original games, especially since most of what was in those originals has made it into the remasters.

Not everything made the jump, of course, including some of the cheats. However, it appears at least one new cheat has been added to all three games. YouTuber L Games discovered that a particular combo of buttons results in The Trilogy's big head mode being activated. You can grab the code in the video below for various platforms and also see it in action.

What's interesting, and seemingly unexplained, is that in GTA 3 and Vice City, everyone's heads are inflated to multiple times their regular size. In San Andreas, on the other hand, only CJ gets his head blown up. A strange decision, if intentional, and we can't decide whether it is more or less amusing. Everyone having a massive head is comedy gold, of course. Just you having one and no one else, well, that might be even funnier.

A couple of weeks on from The Trilogy's launch and the heat its problems generated has naturally started to die down a little. That doesn't mean those issues don't still need to be fixed, and hopefully they are in the process of doing so. The game's first patch has already been rolled out and fixes more than 60 bugs and glitches. There's still work to be done though and hopefully by the time The Trilogy gets a physical launch next month it will be in a much better place.
