Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two's CEO, has called the launch of the GTA Trilogy a "glitch" and claimed that it "has done just great" since.

One of the biggest surprises of 2021 was the release of the remastered GTA Trilogy. No, it wasn't surprising that we got more GTA content, it was surprising how rough they launched. From weird character model glitches to spelling mistakes caused by machine-based upscaling, all the way to rain that made things unplayable, it was so poorly received that Rockstar had to issue an apology and make the older releases of the games available again.

Although some patches have been released since then, the trilogy still isn't in the kind of shape to be bragged about. As reported by IGN, Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two's CEO, seemed to have brushed past this in a recent interview with CNBC to discuss. the acquisition of Zynga. During the interview, Jim Cramer asks Zelnick about the issues with the GTA Trilogy, saying that Take-Two had always said it wouldn't put a game out before it was ready.

In response, Zelnick said, “With regards to the GTA trilogy, that was actually not a new title. That was a remaster of pre-existing titles. We did have a glitch in the beginning, that glitch was resolved. And the title has done just great for the company. So we’re very excited. We have an amazing pipeline going forward. Zynga has an incredible pipeline going forward. And together, we think we can do a whole lot more than what’s already been announced."

Considering the conversation between Zelnick and CNBC was in relation to Take-Two's recent acquisition of Zynga, it should probably come as no surprise to see Zelnick defending one of the company's biggest recent releases. It's also likely that Zelnick is referring more to how much money the trilogy has made Take-Two since its release, which is undoubtedly a lot. Even a glitchy GTA sell well.
