In co-op survival horror GTFO, players have to work together and make sure they manage all sorts of factors in order to stay alive. You'll have to focus on your ammo count, the position of the hordes of enemies, and the wide range of consumables that will help you survive.

Consumables are items that can only be used a limited number of times, providing some form of relief, respite, or extra power to you and your squad. Knowing each of these consumables and their importance is key to staying alive.

9 Long Range Flashlight

Long Range Flashlight GTFO

This powerful flashlight, although basic, can be very effective at providing information and improving the quality of life of several games. Due to the infinite battery life, this flashlight can always brighten up any areas which can relieve some of that atmospheric horror that permeates GTFO.

You might use it to spot a dormant horde waiting to attack, or just help you traverse without having to turn up the brightness to max. Despite this, it can alert any enemies nearby easily and can cause many unwarranted deaths.

8 Fog Repeller

Fog Repeller GTFO

The Fog Repeller is a fantastic item that can provide much-needed help to both you and your team. It can slowly clear any environmental fog in its vicinity, giving you a clear view of any enemies who may be lurking out of sight.

It is a great item that can provide a large area of unobstructed view to all teammates, and the fact that it lasts about two minutes makes it very useful in terms of utility. Due to the fact that the Fog is infectious, bringing a Fog Repeller is a must for any team who wants to try and survive.

7 Lock Melter

Lock Melter GTFO

Found randomly, these pieces of equipment enable the player to open up locks silently or use hacked locks to save time. Although they're relatively simple in concept, they're perfect for collecting resources.

However, one of the major limiting factors for Lock Melters is how simple they are. They have one primary use (opening locks silently), and other than that, there isn't anything else they can do. Usually, Lock Melters are worth taking until you encounter other pieces of equipment.

6 Glow Sticks

Glow Stick GTFO

Similar to the flashlight, Glow Sticks provide an element of visual relief in dark rooms, alerting players of any threats that are lurking in the dark. However, unlike the Flashlight, Glow Sticks don't alert any enemies nearby. Unfortunately, they do have limited use.

Lasting around one minute, and with only twelve to use, the Glow Sticks are always handy to have, as they can help you and your team traverse safely and stealthily. Although safer than using a flashlight, unfortunately, the Glow Stick's time is limited and they are in short supply.

5 C-Foam Grenade

C-Foam Grenade GTFO

Incredibly useful and resourceful, the C-Foam Grenade can turn the tide of a playthrough. As one grenade can fully reinforce a door without the use of anything else, it provides strong relief when playing defensively and slowly.

Although hard to control, the C-Foam Grenade can slow down and freeze hordes of enemies, providing a fight-changing bit of relief. When thrown at any surface, it explodes, releasing foam that can slow, immobilize or reinforce areas, making it an all-around great piece of equipment to keep an eye out for.

4 I2-LP Syringe

I2-LP Syringe GTFO

As basic as most equipment comes, the I2-LP Syringe is your run-of-the-mill piece of medical equipment. Although you gain a slight bit of infection, the fact that you can regenerate up to 12 health makes it incredibly worth it.

The syringe can easily save you from the brink of death and enable you to keep fighting. There will be countless times where one of these syringes could have made a world of difference, so they are always worth picking up when you see them.

3 IIx Syringe

Gavel and Melee GTFO

The IIx is a must-have for anyone who plays a predominantly melee class, or anyone who wants to get up close and personal. It empowers your melee greatly, at the cost of infection, however, which couples perfectly with charging headfirst into a wave of enemies.

As players have the option to go melee at any point, with some classes having a focus on melee in general, having an IIx Syringe is something worth your while. Although there is only one charge, this syringe can turn the tide of a fight, so if someone in your party likes to go into the fray, make sure you are looking for one of these.

2 Explosive Tripmine

Kriegar-Mine-Deployer-1

The Explosive Tripmine does exactly what it says on the box: it provides huge explosive damage when tripped. It is a one-time use mine that functions identically to the Mine Deployer, which means they can't be moved or picked up after placement.

The only downside to using the Explosive Tripmine is that, if you are the slightest bit clumsy, it is best to stay as far away from it, seeing as it can down you in one go. The huge explosion can shred through enemies, and your team, easily. As long as this is handled with care, the Explosive Tripmine is a welcome piece of equipment you should bring.

1 C-Foam Tripmine

C-Foam Mine

Although similar to the normal Explosive Tripmine, instead of there being a huge explosion, there is instead an eruption of C-Foam. This can be used in a variety of ways, as it can reinforce doors, freeze enemies and help you kite any bosses.

This mine instantly freezes any enemies caught in the blast, which includes any of the bosses. This is also the most effective way to take out large groups of enemies, as it immobilizes all of them. This is especially effective when preparing for a large encounter, making it the most useful piece of equipment to look out for.
