Aurora is a legendary trinket in Guild Wars 2, which means it's super rare and valuable (not to mention the huge boost it gives to your stats). However, as with all rare and valuable things, it's time-consuming and challenging to acquire. We detail exactly what you need to do in this article!
You need four items to make Aurora: a Mystic Tribute, a Gift of Sentience, a Gift of Draconic Mastery, and a Spark of Sentience. Below, we'll tell you how to get all those things and combine them in the Mystic Forge to craft your very own legendary trinket
Prerequisites
To unlock Aurora, you must have access to all the episodes of Living World Season 3.
Component 1: Mystic Tribute
You need four items to create the Mystic Tribute, which we describe how to acquire below.
- Mystic Clover (x77)
- Mystic Coin (x250)
- Gift of Condensed Might (x2)
- Gift of Condensed Magic (x2)
When you have all four, you can combine them in the Mystic Forge to get the Mystic Tribute.
How To Get Mystic Clovers
Mystic Clovers are a special resource that is pretty hard to come by. They're generally acquired from...
- daily login rewards
- PvP reward tracks
- WvW reward tracks
- purchasing them from particular vendors
We tell you more about how to get Mystic Clovers in the guide where we explain how to get Aurene-themed Legendary Weapons.
How To Get Mystic Coins
Mystic Coins, like Mystic Clovers, are rare and valuable! There are several options for getting them, though, so we've put together a full guide to help you out:

To get the Gift of Sentience, you need to combine four items:
- Gift of the Mists (x1)
- Icy Runestones (x100)
- Gift of Valor (x1)
- Gift of Energy (x1)
We describe below how to acquire each ingredient. Put them all into the Mystic Forge to make a Gift of Sentience!
How To Get A Gift Of The Mists
Just like the Gift of Prescience, you get a Gift of the Mists by combining four items in the Mystic Forge:
- Gift of Glory (x1)
- Gift of Battle (x1)
- Gift of War (x1)
- Cube of Stabilized Dark Energy (x1)
Ingredient For A Gift Of The Mists |
How To Get It |
---|---|
Gift of Glory |
A Gift of Glory is purchased from Miyani, who is standing next to the Mystic Forge in Lion's Arch. It will cost 250 Shards of Glory. Those are obtained in a variety of ways, but especially through Player versus Player reward tracks and from other players on the trading post. |
Gift of Battle |
The Gift of Battle can only be obtained by completing the Gift of Battle Item Reward Track in World versus World. The Gift of Battle is the final reward in the track. |
Gift of War |
Like the Gift of Glory, you need to purchase the Gift of War from Miyani in Lion's Arch. It will cost you 250 Memories of Battle, which are largely earned through World versus World reward tracks (but you can also buy them on the trading post). |
Cube of Stabilized Dark Energy |
Level 100 Armorsmiths, Weaponsmiths, Tailors, Artificers, Leatherworkers, and Huntsmen can craft Cubes of Stabilized Dark Energy. It requires two ingredients:
|
How To Get Icy Runestones
Icy Runestones are a crafting ingredient obtained from Rojan the Penitent. He's found in the Frostgorge Sound map, in the Earthshake Basin.
Each Icy Runestone costs 1 gold, so you'll need 100 gold to purchase enough for the Gift of Prescience.
How To Get A Gift Of Energy
For the Gift of Energy, you'll need to have a character who is level 400 as an Artificer.
Then, go to Miyani at the Mystic Forge in Lion's Arch and purchase the Recipe for the Gift of Energy.
After that, go to an Artificing station and craft it with these ingredients:
- Pile of Crystalline Dust (x250)
- Pile of Incandescent Dust (x250)
- Pile of Luminous Dust (x250)
- Pile of Radiant Dust (x250)
How To Get A Gift Of Valor
The Gift of Valor is obtained from completing the first achievement: 'Aurora: Awakening.'
To unlock 'Aurora: Awakening,' you need to get the Sentient Seed. The Sentient Seed is purchased for 1,000 Unbound Magic from the Gleam of Sentience. The Gleam of Sentience needs to be crafted in the Mystic Forge by combining four items:
- Sentient Aberration (x1)
- Sentient Anomaly (x1)
- Sentient Oddity (x1)
- Sentient Singularity (x1)
Item |
How To Obtain It |
---|---|
Sentient Aberration |
Earned by completing the 'Rising Flames: Token Collector' achievement in Ember Bay. |
Sentient Anomaly |
Earned by completing the achievement 'Out of the Shadows: Conspiracy of Dunces' in Bloodstone Fen. |
Sentient Oddity |
Earned by completing the 'The Head of the Snake: Cin Business' achievement in Lake Doric. |
Sentient Singularity |
Earned by completing the achievement 'Flashpoint: Lessons Learned' in Draconis Mons. |
Once you've obtained the Sentient Seed, completing the 'Aurora: Awakening' achievement requires some more achievement completion!
Item |
How To Obtain It |
---|---|
Bloodstone Fen Hero |
Earned by completing the achievement 'Bloodstone Fen Master.' |
Ember Bay Hero |
Earned by completing the achievement 'Ember Bay Master.' |
Bitterfrost Frontier Hero |
Earned by completing the achievement 'Bitterfrost Frontier Master.' |
Lake Doric Hero |
Earned by completing the achievement 'Lake Doric Master.' |
Draconis Mons Hero |
Earned by completing the achievement 'Draconis Mons Master' (which also requires the 'A Henge Away From Home' achievement completion). |
Siren's Landing Hero |
Earned by completing the achievement 'Siren's Landing Master.' |
Component 3: Gift Of Draconic Mastery
To get a Gift of Draconic Mastery, combine these items in the Mystic Forge:
- Gift of Bloodstone Magic (x1)
- Gift of Dragon Magic (x1)
- Bloodstone Shard (x1)
- Crystalline Ingot (x1)
How To Get A Gift Of Dragon Magic
A Gift of Dragon Magic can be purchased from Miyani, the Mystic Forge attendant in Lion's Arch. It costs:
- Petrified Wood (x250)
- Fresh Winterberry (x250)
- Fire Orchid Blossom (x250)
All of those items are collected in the Draconis Mons, Ember Bay, and Bitterfrost Frontier maps. It's worth noting that you must have at least started the 'Aurora: Awakening' achievement to purchase it.
How To Get A Gift Of Bloodstone Magic
The Gift of Bloodstone Magic is also purchased from Miyani in Lion's Arch. The cost is:
- Blood Ruby (x250)
- Jade Shard (x250)
- Orrian Pearl (x250)
These items are found in the Bloodstone Fen, Lake Doric, and Siren's Landing maps. Like the previous one, you must have at least started the 'Aurora: Awakening' achievement.
How To Get A Crystalline Ingot
Crystalline Ingots are crafted by level 500 Armorsmiths, Artificers, Huntsmen, Leatherworkers, Tailors, and Weaponsmiths, so one of your characters must master one of those disciplines. They're account-bound, so they can't be purchased from other players.
Go to a crafting station and combine the following items to get a Crystalline Ingot:
- Crystalline Ore (x1)
- Fulgurite (x1)
- Glob of Ectoplasm (x1)
- Amalgamated Gemstone (x1)
How To Get A Bloodstone Shard
Bloodstone Shards are another item that you purchase from Miyani, the Mystic Forge attendant who stands next to it in Lion's Arch. Bloodstone Shards costs 200 Spirit Shards each.
Component 4: Spark Of Sentience
The Spark of Sentience is the reward for the second achievement: 'Aurora II: Empowering.' It's unlocked when you finish the first Aurora achievement.
Aurora II: Empowering asks you to take Xunlai Electrum Ingots to a bunch of Mastery Insights in order to infuse them, so you should make all 21 Xunlai Electrum Ingots first (you'll need a character who is a level 400 Jeweler). One Xunlai Electrum Ingot is made with:
- Silver Ingot (x20)
- Gold Ingot (x10)
- Platinum Ingot (x20)
- Lump of Mithrillium (x1)
Once you have 21 in your inventory, you can start travelling to and communing with the Mastery Points:

Crafting Aurora
Once you've collected...
- Mystic Tribute (x1)
- Gift of Sentience (x1)
- Gift of Draconic Mastery (x1)
- Spark of Sentience (x1)
... you can combine them all in the Mystic Forge to make your very own legendary trinket: Aurora!
You may notice that your character gets a slight effect when you wear this trinket. It's actually an effect that comes in three parts, with each part activating depending on the number of legendary accessories you have equipped: Aurora, Coalescence, and/or Vision.
