CD Projekt Red has announced a brand-new expansion for its popular Witcher card game, Gwent. The expansion, called Price of Power: Harvest of Sorrow, is available to players now and can be downloaded for free on PC, Apple M1 Macs, iOS, and Android.

Gwent is a collectible card game that first appeared as a side quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt where players collected various cards and could challenge certain NPC’s throughout the game. The side quest became insanely popular amongst players and led to CD Projekt Red creating a standalone version, Gwent. The rather simple card game sees players picking a deck representing a faction in The Witcher world and each deck contains a series of cards that represent characters within that world. The object of the game is to gain points by playing cards.

This new expansion is the third and final installment in the Price of Power expansion set. The Harvest of Sorrow expansion includes 26 new cards including four of differing rarities per faction and two neutrals. The plot for Harvest of Sorrow focuses on the Valley of Flowers as summer is winding down. For the Valley, the end of summer also means the end of joy and carelessness. As merciless winds blow in from the north, they bring with them fire and the echo of marching armies. However, hope remains in those who have managed to survive the slaughter.

Along with the news of the expansion, CD Projekt Red has announced that kegs containing cards from this expansion, and all of the previous expansions in the Price of Power set, are available to buy in the Gwent in-game store. Plus, until November 16 players can purchase the Price of Power Expansion Pass at a 30% discount. The Expansion Pass gives players all 117 cards from the set, including Premium cards, 21 ornaments comprising 8 avatars, a game board, a cardback, the brand-new Octavia Hale “Witchfinder” leader skin, and the animated Pyre coin.

Also available in the in-game store is the Harvest of Sorrow Combo. This includes all Harvest of Sorrow Premium cards, as well as 6 avatars, and the Octavia Hale “Witchfinder” leader skin.

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is available for free on Steam, Apple M1 Macs running MacOS, Android, and iOS. For more information, you can check out the game’s official website.
