Hades is widely considered to be one of the best games in recent years, with some even going so far as to consider it the perfect game. Everything seems balanced, it fails to run out of "fun" for hundreds of hours, and there's a seemingly endless amount of dialogue from the NPCs to discover.

It's hard to find anything that the game is missing, but there are a few tiny changes that would be amazing to see. They aren't necessary, but they would be fun. Supergiant Games worked tirelessly to make this game great and has announced that it has no plans to update the game any time soon, but the developer hasn't ruled out the possibility entirely. Here are some things that would be really cool to see, if we ever get an update.

10 Hera

demeter hades

One of the most important aspects of the game is Zagreus' ability to call on the Olympian Gods for help in his escape attempts. Each of them offers powerful boons and helpful guidance that make Zagreus more and more powerful.

These Gods are members of the Greek Pantheon, which typically consisted of 12 Gods. It's notable, then, that a few are missing. Hera is one of the missing gods. Typically considered the Queen of the Gods and the wife of Zeus, her absence is fairly evident. It's unclear what her boons could look like, but it would be nice to see her in some capacity.

9 Daedalus Keepsake/Hephaestus

Daedalus Hammer

Another notable absence is Hephaestus, the God of the metalworking and fire. Hephaestus' boons would probably be upgrades to Zagreus' different weapons, since weaponry, smithing, and craftsmen are typically associated with this God. This role is instead played by the Daedalus Hammer, which is offered by the famous Greek artisan Daedalus, known for building the Labyrinth and being the father of Icarus.

The role of Hephaestus might be kind of redundant if Supergiant Games couldn't find a way to add him in without overlapping with Daedalus. So, instead, it would be nice to receive a Keepsake from Daedalus, even though he doesn't appear in person like the other characters.

8 DLC

athena olympus

Supergiant Games has said it doesn't plan to add DLC any time soon, but one can hope (and dream). There are a ton of different ways that DLC could be implemented and what it could include, including introducing some (if not all) of the missing Olympian Pantheon.

Another cool addition would be a post-game scenario where Zagreus can actually go to Olympus. The Gods up there think he's trying to escape so he can live on Olympus. It would be nice to at least visit. DLC for the game could also just include anything on this list.

7 Apollo

Artemis Hades

Another missing God from the Pantheon is Apollo, God of the sun, poetry, healing, and a lot more. As one of the most famous Greek Gods, his absence is also rather noticeable. This is compounded by the fact that Artemis, Apollo's twin sister, is in the game.

Apollo's boons could potentially relate to light and the sun, although a burn-like status effect is kind of covered by Dionysus' Hangover effect. Perhaps Apollo's boons could blind enemies since the sun is bright and the Underworld doesn't really get any sunlight.

6 Testing Builds Against Skelly

This is actually a common gripe among players. Skelly is the ever-faithful helper to Zagreus, standing in the courtyard of the House of Hades and perfectly willing to have the stuffing beat out of him. This allows you to test out the various weapons and their different aspects on a "foe."

However, it would be useful to be able to test out various boons and Daedalus Hammer upgrades, as well. It's hard to tell how your build is going to look if you can't test it out, after all.

5 Side Quests And Contracts

There are quite a few different ways to achieve milestones and goals beyond just escaping the Underworld. The Fated List of Minor Prophecies acts as a sort of achievement list, and many of the characters have a single favor they'll ask of Zagreus.

But, it would be great to see full-on sidequests or even contracts. A character offering some sort of payment in Gemstones or Nectar if you defeat a certain type of enemy or achieve some other tasks would be super cool.

4 Hestia

zagreus family hades

The final missing God of the Olympian Pantheon is a bit disputed. Hestia – the Goddess of the hearth, domesticity, and the home – is also absent from the game. In many tellings in Ancient Greek mythology, Hestia is one of the Twelve Olympians, while in other tellings, Dionysus takes her place. Some believe Hestia actually abdicated her spot in the Pantheon for Dionysus at some point.

Since Hades is filled with inner-conflict between the Gods and many of the classic relationships between them, Hestia being around to fight with Dionysus for who really belongs could be a nice touch. At least the Aspect of Hestia on the Adamant Rail makes it so she's at least referenced in some capacity in the game.

3 More Romance Options

megaera hades

This may come as a surprise to some, but in the end, Hades is kind of a dating sim. There are three romance options: Megaera, Thanatos, and Dusa. These characters can be romanced after leveling up Zagreus' friendship with them to a high enough level with gifts, Stardew Valley-style.

However, it would be nice to see a few more options. Hypnos doesn't seem to have a partner, nor does Sisyphus. If Supergiant Games wanted to make it hilarious, the developer could offer Theseus, Asterius, or Alecto, as well.

2 Greece

persephone's cottage hades

The first handful of times that Zagreus escapes the Underworld before Persephone returns to the House of Hades, he meets her at her cottage on the surface, technically in Greece. After she moves back, Zagreus simply dies after defeating the final boss in a text-based retelling.

It would be great if you could still head up through Greece to the cottage to check on the gardens as Persephone asks. If not that, an option could be to just spend your limited time on the surface in the snowy landscape, rather than just dying after finishing the final boss. If nothing else, there are fish to catch! And catching them in the final boss area isn't the same.

1 Titans

tartarus titan blood boss battle chamber

Perhaps the greatest tale in Greek mythology is the defeat of the Titans at the hands of their children, Zeus, Hera, Demeter, Hades, Poseidon, and Hestia. From there, many were cast into the depths of Tartarus, while others were punished in other ways. Their blood is present as an artifact, but that's the only use they have in Hades.

Many other tales lead from these events, including in some telling, the freeing of some of the Titans by Zeus after he somewhat lets up on them. How cool would it be if the Titans were to appear in the game in some way? Maybe as enemies to fight or to offer incredibly powerful boons to Zagreus.
