In Hades, the fantastic new title from SuperGiant Games, Zagreus would have a tough time making it out of the Underworld without the help of the Olympian Gods, who offer him boons of varying quality. Boons come in a few rarities: Common, Rare, Epic, and Heroic, for the most part. However, if certain conditions are met, a God may offer a Legendary boon, which has immense powerful effects. Other times, Gods will offer Duo Boons, which are amazing as well.

Each of the Olympian Gods has a Legendary boon to offer, except for Hermes and Poseidon, who have two Legendary boons. Additionally, Primordial Chaos offers a Legendary boon as well. Finding most of them is required to complete the Power Without Equal achievement on the Fated List of Minor Prophecies. Here is how you can get all of the Legendary Boons.

Legendary boons are typically Tier 3 boons, offered to Zagreus when he has a Tier 1 and a Tier 2 boon, the latter of which requires one of the first as well. They must all be from the same God, as well.

Using Athena as an example: You need one of four of Athena's Tier 1 boons to be offered her Tier 2 boon, Brilliant Riposte, which you then need for her Legendary boon.

Updated on March 30, 2021 by Michael Christopher: Hades has been a breakout hit since its release, receiving a ton of awards, including Game of the Year by several organizations and publications. For those who are coming to the game because of all its hype, these lists are an important resource, so we've updated this one to make sure it's all as helpful as ever.

12 Bad News

Hermes is a bit of an exception to the rule of needing lower-tier boons to earn his Legendary ones. Both of his Legendary boons are offered when Zagreus has equipped certain abilities from the Mirror of Night.

For "Bad News," Hermes will offer it when Zagreus has the Stygian Soul ability active and has been granted the "Auto Reload" boon from Hermes already.

The Bad News boon causes Zagreus' cast to deal more damage to foes without a Bloodstone on them.

11 Greater Recall

This is the second Legendary boon offered by Hermes. It requires the alternate ability to Stygian Soul (which is needed for Hermes' other Legendary boon) from the Mirror of Night, Infernal Soul, to be active.

Then, Zagreus will also have to have either Flurry Cast or Quick Reload from Hermes. Once these conditions are met and you add "Greater Recall" to your boon list,  it causes your Bloodstones to return to you automatically. Some other boons and Aspects on weapons are incompatible with Flurry Cast or Quick Reload, though.

Quick Reload is incompatible with Crystal Beam, Curse of Drowning, Slicing Shot, Trippy Shot, or the Aspect of Beowulf. Flurry Cast is incompatible with the Aspect of Beowulf or the Aspect of Hera.

10 Defiance

This is the Legendary boon offered by Primordial Chaos. It will give Zagreus one extra slot of Death Defiance after completing the required "curse" placed on it, like all Chaos boons.

This boon is hard to find. It requires that Zagreus already have one Chaos boon equipped, meaning you'll have to find two Chaos gates in a single run, and hope that you're lucky enough to be offered this boon. Purchasing the Light of Ixion from a Well of Charon is a good way to ensure a Chaos gate will spawn.

9 Divine Protection

Athena will offer her Legendary boon "Divine Protection" after meeting the prerequisites for it. Zagreus will need to be in possession of two of the following Athena boons: Divine Strike, Divine Flourish, Divine Dash, or Holy Shield. Additionally, he'll need to have her boon Brilliant Riposte, which also requires one of the boons from the first group.

Divine Protection grants Zagreus an impenetrable barrier. After taking damage, the barrier has a 20-second cooldown before reappearing. If Zagreus is using the Shield of Chaos weapon and blocks the damage, the barrier will not be broken.

8 Fully Loaded

artemis hades

"Fully Loaded" is a Legendary boon offered by Artemis, granting Zagreus two extra Bloodstones for his cast. In order for Artemis to offer it, Zagreus must have any two of the following: Hunter's Mark, Exit Wounds, or Support Fire. Each of these has its own prerequisites, as well.

Hunter's Mark requires Artemis' Aid, Deadly Flourish, Deadly Strike, Pressure Points, or True Shot.

Support Fire requires any of the same prerequisites of Hunter's Mark, with the addition of Hunter Dash as an option.

Exit Wounds requires either Crush Shot, Electric Shot, Flood Shot, Phalanx Shot, or True Shot. Note that these are all cast boons from other Gods, not Artemis.

7 Black Out

Dionysus has a Legendary boon called "Black Out." This boon makes foes afflicted with Hangover — Dionysus' signature status effect — take more damage while inside Festive Fog.

Dionysus will offer this boon when Zagreus has one of the following: Bad Influence, Dionysus' Aid, Drunken Flourish, Drunken Strike, Numbing Sensation, or Peer Pressure, and one of the following: High Tolerance or Trippy Shot.

High Tolerance requires Zagreus to already have Trippy Shot or Trippy Flare, as well.

6 Huge Catch

"Huge Catch" is the first of two Legendary boons offered by Poseidon. This one is fairly straightforward: it increases the chance of a fishing spot spawning in each chamber by 20 percent, and removes the cap on how many fishing spots can spawn in a certain number of chambers.

To find this boon, Zagreus must have Ocean's Bounty and Sunken Treasure already. However, the first time you are offered Huge Catch, it will appear as the only option from Poseidon in the first chamber. This only happens once, though.

5 Second Wave

The second Legendary boon offered by Poseidon increases the occurrence of Knockback, Poseidon's signature status effect. Second Wave causes a second knockback after the first, effectively hitting foes twice.

Second Wave requires one of the following: Flood Shot, Poseidon's Aid, Tempest Flourish, Tempest Strike, or Tidal Dash, and one of the following: Breaking Wave, Razor Shoals, or Typhoon's Fury.

Each boon from the second group requires one from the first group.

4 Splitting Bolt

Zeus' Legendary boon is called "Splitting Bolt" and it creates an additional burst on all of your lightning effects. Lightning does 40 damage, and a slow-moving spark occurs and bounces five times. It requires Storm Lightning and one of either Double Strike or High Voltage.

Storm Lightning requires Electric Shot or Lightning Strike. High Voltage and Double Strike both require Thunder Dash, Thunder Flourish, or Zeus' Aid.

3 Unhealthy Fixation

aphrodite hades

Aphrodite's Legendary boon is called "Unhealthy Fixation," and it increases the power of her signature Weak effects. With Unhealthy Fixation, Weak effects have a 15 percent chance to Charm foes, which causes them to attack each other instead of Zagreus, while also doing no damage to him, for four seconds.

Unhealthy Fixation requires one of the following: Passion Dash, Crush Shot, Heartbreak Strike, Heartbreak Flourish, or Passion Flare (unique to the Aspect of Beowulf), and one of the following: Empty Inside, Sweet Surrender, or Broken Resolve.

Each boon from the second group requires one from the first group.

2 Vicious Cycle

"Vicious Cycle" is Ares' Legendary boon, and it increases the damage of Blade Rift effects for each consecutive hit by one.

It requires Slicing Shot, Blade Dash, or Ares' Aid, and one of either Black Metal or Engulfing Vortex.

Both of the boons in the second group need a boon from the first group or Slicing Flare.

1 Winter Harvest

demeter hades

Demeter will only appear in a run after reaching the surface for the first time. Once she does, she can offer her Legendary boon "Winter Harvest," which causes foes afflicted with her signature effect, Chill, to shatter when they reach 10 percent HP, causing damage and more Chill in a nearby radius.

It requires two of the following: Arctic Blast, Ravenous Will, or Killing Freeze.

Ravenous Will has no prerequisites, but Arctic Blast and Killing Freeze require one of the following: Demeter's Aid, Frost Flourish, Frost Strike, Mistral Dash, or Snow Burst.
