Hades is finally available on Xbox and PlayStation, and the already classic roguelite is getting the big-screen treatment that it's always needed. Resolutions are high, the action is crisp, and it's also available as part of Xbox Game Pass, so there are few reasons left not to play this game.

In this guide, we're going to be breaking down Titan Blood. Titan Blood is one of the dozens of items you can collect while trying to escape the Underworld, but how you use it isn't immediately clear. If you need to earn Titan Blood yourself, we have a guide for that here. This guide will break down exactly how you can use Titan Blood and what benefits you can expect.

Updated on December 11, 2021 by William Quick: There are many materials you can collect during attempts that can be put towards useful purchases, but Titan Blood is one of the most valuable. To that end, we've expanded on the topic to cover it in-depth!

Using Titan Blood To Upgrade Weapons - Hades

The primary use for Titan Blood is to upgrade the weapons Zagreus uses in his escape attempts. If you've already unlocked a weapon using Keys, you can enhance its abilities even further with Titan Blood. Each of the six weapons has five levels to unlock, each using Titan Blood, so it might take a fair amount of time to harvest enough Titan Blood. Reminder, we have a guide to earning more Titan Blood in Hades right here.

If you have a weapon you favor over all others, the best idea is to use the Titan Blood you find upgrading that weapon, as you'll need at least five per weapon, and it's not the easiest resource to come across. Luckily you will, of course, keep the Titan Blood you've earned even after death, and you can use it upon returning.

Once you've used five Titan Blood on any given weapon, you'll be able to unlock a final Hidden Aspect for that weapon after speaking to an NPC - the NPC differs for each weapon aspect. Here are the weapons and the NPCs that unlock their final aspects.

Using Titan Blood For Specific Purchases

Zagreus Prepares To Make Another Escape

Though its main value lies in its upgrade potential, Titan Blood is still sought out by other characters in the Underworld. If you're willing to sacrifice a fair amount of it, you can attain some unique aesthetics and decorative items to help customize your Hades experience. The two NPCs who can use Titan Blood to make that happen are the House Contractor and Resource Director.

The House Contractor is a ghostly character located in the main hall of Hades sitting behind a desk and wearing a hard hat. Its job is to help with the restoration and decoration of the Underworld which Zagreus can aid by spending Gemstones, Diamonds, and even Titan Blood. Depending on the order selected, Zagreus will receive passive effects to help in his escape attempts. However, by spending 10 drops of Titan Blood, you can evoke the unique Stygian theme which adds an overall grim and gothic feel to the renovation.

The Resource Director is an unusual NPC in that it appears only after you've made it to the credits. It's a shade found floating in front of a table located in Lord Hades's bed chambers. You can spend resources to earn yourself different ranks which appear as decorative badges next to Zagreus's health bar. By spending one drop of Titan Blood and 3000-12000 Gemstones, you can purchase badges in the Unseen ranking which are distinguishable for their dark gold hue, face carvings, and purple jewels.

Trading Titan Blood - Hades

There is one other thing you can do with Titan Blood, and that is trading it to the Wretched Broker. The Broker's wares change regularly, as does what he's asking for. Sometimes a trade will be incredibly beneficial, helping you get a quick leg-up on unlocking weapons or rooms, but at other times the Broker will be asking for a precious item that you should really keep.

There's no right or wrong, especially since it's hard to predict what the Broker will have on offer at any point in the game, but you should regularly check what the Wretched Broker has to offer and see if it's worth the trade for your hard-earned Titan Blood.

When trading with the Broker, there's a fair amount of risk involved. Titan Blood is not the easiest resource to find so it makes sense to be wary about giving it away and whether the trade makes sense. Since the Broker can convert one item into another, Titan Blood can be used in Reverse Trades. Based on conversion rates, there's always a chance you'll end up with less than what you started with so be sure to take that into account between visits.
