Supergiant Games just announced that Hades, the indie smash hit roguelite from last year, is coming to Xbox Series X on August 13, 2021. Yes, it will be available to download and play for free if you're an Xbox Game Pass subscriber.

The news comes as part of today's massive Microsoft and Bethesda showcase, which has featured all kind of new information so far. For example, Starfield is a console-exclusive for Xbox Series X and will launch on November 11, 2022, while Stalker 2 is scheduled to come out on April 28 next year.

If you didn't get on the Hades train last year, you can watch the new trailer for it in the video embedded below, which should give you a pretty good indication of how it plays and what it's all about.

For those unacquainted with what was widely credited as one of the best games of last year, Hades is a roguelite that places you in the shoes of Zagreus, a Chthonic deity who has made it his mission to escape from the Underworld and the irritating clutches of his father, who is - you guessed it! - Hades, God of the Underworld.

Hades was already rumored to be coming to Xbox earlier this year, although Microsoft stated that the rumor was fake. As we can see now, it obviously wasn't. The game has also been rated for PS4 in Korea, although Game Pass makes the Xbox deal a bit sweeter.

If you're curious about Hades, it's worth noting that it cleaned up at the BAFTAs and won the Nebula Award for best writing. Personally, it was my game of the year last year by a huge distance, to the point that I've pumped well over 100 hours into slashing and dashing my way through Tartarus and up to Greece.

Hades comes to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on August 13, 2022, meaning it's currently just two months away. As mentioned previously, you can play it for free if you have an active Game Pass subscription.
