Halo Infinite's Craig is "feeling very good about himself and has fit back in well with the rest of his Brute friends".

Earlier in the week, Halo fans finally got what they'd been asking for with a brand new look at the campaign. Hidden within that gameplay trailer was a new look at Craig, the Halo Brute whose face was famously memed after the much-criticised first showing of Infinite.

Gamers quickly noticed that Craig had gone through a glow-up, swapping out his non-plussed face for a mohawk and beard. 343 Industries has taken that Craig love and ran with it, detailing what's happened to the character in the latest Halo Insider update.

When asked about what Craig has been up to since the game was originally shown off, Bryan Repka, character art lead for Infinite’s Campaign, said, "He has gone through some changes, but I am here to say that he has glammed up. He is feeling very good about himself and has fit back in well with the rest of his Brute friends. He has also picked up a new hobby and has done well for himself. Long live Craig!"

The implication that Craig has just "fit back in well with the rest of his Brute friends" implies some sort of spiritual journey from Craig after the events of Infinite's E3 demo. We'd play it.

On a more serious note, Steve Dyck, character and combat director on Infinite, said, "The team has sort of a love-hate relationship with Craig. While it was fun to see the community gravitate towards Craig, he unfortunately represented some content and systems that were not ready for prime time in that demo. The positive outcome of Craig was that he was one of the factors in gaining some more time to finish work and get Brutes to a place where the team is happy with them."

Dyck also confirmed that Craig has been immortalised within Infinite, "Players who look hard enough will still be able to find some evidence of Craig in Halo Infinite, his spirit lives on!"
