Halo Infinite’s file size might have leaked, and it’s a pretty hefty one — almost 100 GB. If you’re planning to play on Xbox Series S you might want to prepare for the download in advance, as the game at launch will take up more than a fourth of the available space of your console.
A picture of the game’s listing on the Xbox Store appeared on Twitter, quickly spreading on the web. Apparently, Halo Infinite will join the list of the storage-demanding games, as the listing shows that the file size of the eagerly-anticipated title is 97.24 GB.
It is worth noting the exact platform for the listing is nowhere to be seen in the picture. According to some opinions on social media, Halo Infinite will take about 100 GB on the Xbox Series X, while Series S and One version will be somehow easier on the free space. It might also be slightly different on PC.
Of course, you should take this info with a grain of salt for now. Neither Microsoft nor 343 Industries representatives have officially revealed the exact size for the title across different platforms.
Another thing you should probably consider is that Halo Infinite will get a Day One update, likely increasing those figures above 100 GB.
Halo Infinite will deliver not only an epic single-player story campaign (or even several of them) and a separate free-to-play multiplayer but also will serve as the foundations for an ever-expanding game in the future. The latest datamines even hinted that Master Chief’s next adventure may include a Battle Royale mode. Other speculation said the game will let you individually install all the elements you want in a separate package, which can be a great deal for the players.
Halo Infinite recently had a great technical beta, which got a lot of praise and confidence from the community for combining old and new with a striking balance.
