We’ve got more details on the Halo Infinite loot you can get from the Monster Energy partnership that was announced earlier this month.
Yes, Halo Infinite isn’t going to be here until 2021, but you can still get ready for the game’s arrival thanks to Monster Energy. The energy drink company has teamed up with Microsoft to start offering Halo Infinite rewards in special Halo-themed cans of Monster Energy, available now at grocers and convenience stores across the country.
Besides being able to earn "double XP" (which presumes the existence of an experience system in Halo Infinite), you can also win a bunch of rewards including a brand new Xbox Series X when it eventually releases later this year or a trip to Paris with free airfare, hotel, and $1,000 in spending money.
There's also free in-game Halo Infinite content too. Cans could have a special code that you can redeem at HaloWaypoint.com starting on September 1st. Content can include in-game emblems and weapon coatings, with the first of those weapon coatings recently being revealed on Twitter thanks to Halo community manager John Junyszek.
Basically, they're Monster Energy-themed Halo weapons. Each gun is painted in Monster's iconic metallic green and black color scheme. You can imagine the words "Monster Energy" appearing along the barrel, but thankfully, the weapon coatings don't quite rise to the level of product placement.
And despite the colors, they're not Monster Energy energy weapons. They still shoot actual bullets.
In recent Halo Infinite news, rumors that the game would release solely on PC and Xbox Series X--leaving the Xbox One out in the cold--have proven to be false. Junyszek confirmed that "there are no plans to change our 2021 release of the devices and platforms we'll be supporting." So you can expect to see Master Chief return on both the current and next-gen Xbox in 2021.
Joseph Staten has also returned to Microsoft in order to assist with the development of Halo Infinite's campaign. He'll be working to get the game "to the finish line," according to a recent 343 Industries post that announced Joseph's arrival. It's interesting that Halo Infinite's campaign has yet to be finalized, and this likely explains why the game was delayed.
