Players have managed to find a menu glitch in Halo Infinite which allows them to play the game in splitscreen co-op. This of course comes in the wake of news that developer 343 Industries would be canceling the game mode despite earlier promises."In order to improve and accelerate ongoing live service development and to better address player feedback and quality of life updates, we have reallocated studio resources and are no longer working on local campaign splitscreen co-op," the company previously announced.The menu glitch comes by way of the mostly French fan community known on Twitter as HaloCreation. This allows players on Xbox Series X|S to add up to three local co-op players to their game, four in addition to themselves.“Follow up on this, here's a quick tutorial on how to play Halo Infinite splitscreen co-op using a menu glitch,” HaloCreation tweeted. "After checking on Series X, the menu glitches to play Halo Infinite campaign splitscreen still work, no crash in cutscenes, no issue with AI.” HaloCreation noted how they “never thought I would have to go through this to play with friends at home,” a reference to the announcement by 343 Industries.The process involved is in fact remarkably simple. Players first need to access the campaign menu and load a saved game, click the play button, open their friends list and join a friend when the message "loading map" appears. They can then leave their fireteam. In the custom lobby under “server,” they finally need to select "offline" before connecting their other controllers. 343 Industries recently revealed its development roadmap for Halo Infinite which notes how the next season has been delayed until March, 2023. In other words, this might just be the perfect time to experiment with a little bit of splitscreen co-op.
