Halo Infinite's community manager has said that playlists won't make the game's launch, but that the team are pushing to "get them in before the end of the year".

Although Halo Infinite's multiplayer has largely been praised since its beta release, there are a few things that the community isn't as hot on, including the slow progression system and lack of customisation options. Thankfully, 343 Industries has been open about making changes to these systems and is currently polishing them before release.

Beyond those two issues, one of the most common complaints with Halo Infinite is the lack of playlists. Currently, players can only jump into Quick Battle, Big Team Battle, and Ranked matches, with no option to choose what type of game mode you play. Don't fancy playing Oddball eight times in a row? Well, tough luck, currently.

Thankfully, Halo Infinite's community manager, John Junyszek, has talked about the lack of playlists and has confirmed that 343 is working on them "as we speak", although they won't be ready for the game's full launch on December 8.

He said, "Let's talk about Halo Infinite playlists! We've been reading your feedback, and we're working on plans to add Fiesta, Tactical Slayer (SWAT), and Free-For-All playlists as we speak. They won't land by Dec 8, but the team is pushing to get them in before the end of year. Our goal for Events is to try new modes prior to adding to playlists. We'll monitor playlist health after the 3 additions above and adjust our offering if needed, but we're excited to make these updates before the holidays."

Juynszek also specifically talked about a social Slayer playlist, saying, "A Social Slayer playlist (with multiple variations) is also in the works (we see this request the most), but we won't be able to get that one ready until after the holidays. We hope you can understand and enjoy the ones that make it in before the team takes a well-deserved break!"
