With the recent release of Halo Infinite, many of the pro tips and tricks from older games have been making a reappearance, with new ones being discovered as well. With this in mind, many players have been looking for methods to up their game, and become (almost) as powerful as Master Chief.

7 Don't Ignore The Plasma Pistol

Plasma Pistol Halo Infinite

Something that many long-time, nostalgic Halo veterans will remember from Halo 3, the laughably weak Plasma Pistol can be one of the most useful weapons in the entire game. A fully charged shot is able to completely take out shields, shut down any vehicles, and is a brilliant tool to get up close and personal with.

Although it can be easy to overlook the Plasma Pistol in Halo Infinite, as its low damage single-shot mode has little use, pro players know that a fully charged one can cause chaos anywhere on the map. Once fully charged, you can follow it up with a quick and powerful melee to result in an insta-kill, or you can bait enemy vehicles to charge at you, just so you can ruin them and get an easy kill. Although it may seem impossible, you can even hit aerial vehicles with it, making for some hilarious moments.

6 No Trigger? No Problem!

Plasma Cannister Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite introduces a variety of new additions, as seen with the amazing weaponry, great vehicles, and (as with the canisters) unique items around the map. Occasionally, players can come across these canisters filled with plasma, which function the same as any normal exploding barrel. However, you can make incredible use out of these.

As you lift and throw these canisters, the world becomes your oyster. You can throw them into enemy vehicles, causing them a self-imposed immediate death. You can also set up an elaborate trap and set off your own mini-nuke or, most stylishly, throw a canister up into the air and shoot it so that it can rain down plasmic hell-fire on any unlucky enemies who have to go through it. Not only is this one of the coolest things you can do, but is one of the best ways to get an advantage over any enemies.

5 All You Need Is A Trusty Grappling Hook

Grappling onto enemy vehicle Halo Infinite

For many players, the aerial and ground combat of Halo can either make or break the game. Luckily for those players, Halo Infinite's combat excels at both while also adding new elements. Not only is the addition of equipment a welcome change, but the number of features that can be explored with said equipment is endless.

It may take players a long time to realize, but one of the most fun pieces of equipment, the grapple shot, can actually be used to hijack enemy vehicles. You'd be hard-pressed to find a moment half as cool as grappling through the air, hijacking an enemy Ghost, and then proceeding to splatter them. Although you can grapple onto an enemy vehicle, it can also be used to grapple onto enemy Spartans for a brutally stylish takedown.

4 Make The Most Of The Equipment

Although it may be easy to pick up any equipment and use it without prior knowledge, the pro players in Halo Infinite will quickly learn what the different equipment does and then be able to utilize it for different scenarios. As previously mentioned, Halo Infinite's fantastic addition of a wide range of equipment makes for a constantly evolving style of play, ensuring that no game feels the same.

Many pieces of equipment have multiple uses, such as the grappling hooks. They are not only good for getting to high ground but also allow you to hijack enemy vehicles, drive them off the map, and grapple back up to safety. Every piece of equipment can fit into almost any style of play, as Halo Infinite's multiplayer is so diverse, with each match feeling completely separate from the last. Despite this, it is vital to learn the functionality of each piece of equipment and go into every game ready to be a menace with each piece.

3 Throw And Run With The Objectives

You may see high-level players on your team using this very tactic, and for good reason. With many game modes like Stockpile and Capture The Flag requiring you to pick up and run with an objective in order to score a point, players can usually be caught at a disadvantage as they can't access their weaponry while carrying said objective.

However, for extra style and utility points, you can actually drop this objective (or throw it) in order to gain extra speed and distance, or turn around and provide additional firepower to the team defending you. In Stockpile, you can launch each power seed into the air in order to get it safely to high-ground, and in Capture The Flag, you can drop then slide to get extra speed while carrying the flag (all the while ensuring that the flag is safe).

2 Pay Attention To The Audio Cues

Air Vehicle Halo Infinite

A beautifully useful detail that has been added to aerial vehicles, players can utilize the audio cues given to maximize their impact and ensure their safety. With both the Banshee and the Wasp providing a rapid high-pitched beeping noise when low on health, the pro-players amongst Halo fans know this doesn't mean that you should immediately disembark.

With a low-health aerial vehicle, players have a small grace period (as long as they avoid any more additional damage), where they can do a number of things. There are many choices, such as getting to safety for a secure exit, abandoning ship into the enemies for a spectacular explosion, or trying to bait an enemy hijack to cause them to seal their fate while inadvertently helping you out. The audio cues are a fantastically understated detail that can give you an indication of when it is time to change tactics.

1 Spartan First, Hacker Second

Hack The Door Halo Infinite

With many maps having easter eggs, hidden details, and, most importantly, hackable doors, it can be easy to overlook their use in the fast-paced combat of Halo Infinite. However, if you take the time to hack the doors, making sure to stay within the borders to ensure that it gets fully hacked, you can find a several reasons why your time was well-spent.

With a newly opened up area of the map, additional cover can be sought when in a firefight, and most importantly, these areas often include incredibly strong weaponry and great equipment. Often, they can provide an advantage point, which makes it worthwhile to take those extra 15 seconds out of combat to give yourself the upper hand in the next ensuing fight. Pro players know that, with these areas, they can play to their strengths with great weaponry, strong equipment and, as many players avoid these areas, get a total advantage on the unsuspecting enemy.
