If you've yet to nab an Xbox Series X and are waiting to play Halo Infinite on it, you may want to hold off on buying one. During Gamescom Opening Night Live 2021, Microsoft announced that a custom themed Halo Infinite console will be releasing roughly one month before the new Halo hits store shelves. Brandished with gold accents and a unique spacey paint, it does look rather fetching.

The console also holds the distinction of being the first special edition Series X console available. It absolutely makes sense that Halo would get the honor, but you have to wonder why Microsoft is releasing this a few weeks ahead of the game. The console will be available on November 15, 2021, whereas Halo Infinite isn't releasing until December 8, 2021.

Interestingly, this custom Series X does not come with the Halo Infinite Elite Controller. That does make sense as Microsoft's beefy Elite gamepads go for over $100, but it would have been a great addition to this special console. Then again, you will get a custom variant of the regular Xbox Series controller, so that's something you can hold over your friends.

If you'd like to nab this console, pre-orders should be going up relatively soon. If you're wondering whether or not Infinite comes with the console, it has been confirmed to be a download code in the box. If you want a disc based copy, you'll need to buy that later yourself. Considering Xbox discs tend to not do much, it's not the biggest loss.
