Don't scroll too fast or you might miss it, 343's new blog detailing its upcoming Master Chief Collection looks like it may be teasing a Flood Firefight for Halo 3: ODST. Also, a classic Halo 2 map is headed to the third game.

The Master Chief Collection may be an old collection of even older games, but 343 is still adding to it. As pointed out by Eurogamer, the Halo 3: ODST screenshot from the developer's plans holds a little secret—look real close, but through the hazy HUD, you can see the Flood.

343 doesn't actually acknowledge it, but that's surely a big wink and a nudge. ODST's Season 8 update will also include "per wave customization options bringing it up closer to Halo: Reach’s options."

While a Flood Firefight is plenty to revisit ODST for, Halo 3 is also getting its own classic goodies in the new update. The Mast Chief Collection's season 8 is bringing back an icy location you may remember from Halo 2, Turf, and adding it to Halo 3 in a remake called Icebox. The new-old map will take you to the Russian city of Tyumen, and it was originally for the abandoned Halo Online project.

343 is bringing plenty more to its Master Chief Collection this week, including accessibility features aimed at improving its current subtitle options through changes to size, color, shadows, and background color. The update will also add an all-new color blindness option. You can check out a full list of everything coming to the next season on 343's official blog.

The Master Chief Collection continues to shape up nicely with support, years after its official launch. Unfortunately, the next installment to the series, Halo Infinite, has seen a few development hurdles, as 343 just revealed its classic co-op campaign and Forge mode won't ship with the game at launch. The developer has remained tight-lipped on any details surrounding its campaign, too, but 343 says that's because the team is currently in "shutdown mode" so they can wrap things up.

Halo Infinite is still set is holiday release window despite the setbacks, and revealed its December 8 launch date during Microsoft's Gamescom reveal.
