Pablo Schreiber, the actor playing Master Chief on Paramount's Halo, has shared a message for the "fans rooting against the home team".

After years of being in development, Paramount's live-action take on Halo is finally upon us, and one of its biggest challenges is putting a definitive face and voice to its main character, the usually faceless Master Chief. Pablo Schreiber, who you might recognise from Orange Is The New Black, is the actor who's trying to fill Chief's massive boots and he's got something to say to all those who haven't been swayed by his portrayal so far.

Schreiber shared the message through his Instagram alongside an unmasked image of Master Chief. The message begins by sharing how successful Halo has been for Paramount so far, before Schreiber moves on to share a message with both the Halo fans who support the show and the ones that have vocally been against it.

Schreiber said, "To all the fans who have been waiting for this moment for so long and to the newcomers who have responded with such overwhelming support and love, I am honored and humbled to be in service to this amazing universe and lore. For all the “fans” rooting against the home team, who hated the show before they saw it and disagree with what we are doing, I respect your opinion and I love you too. Because the truth is, we love the same thing. And I will keep working my ass off each and every day to make this show the best version of itself, to bring attention and respect to this Halo universe we love. For all of us…"

Reception to Schreiber's performance so far has been very mixed, which shouldn't be too much of a surprise considering the difficulty in giving a usually faceless and quiet character a definitive face and personality. Paramount's Halo also takes the helmet off of Chief by the end of the first episode, which some argue was far too soon.
