After nearly seven years since the last Harry Potter movie was released, the series and it's characters are still some of the most recognizable on this planet. Since then we've seen even more books, movies, and  plays released,  and we now have Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald to look forward to later this year.

Even though we haven't seen the Harry, Ron, and Hermione we've grown up with in quite a while, the actors behind those roles have moved on to many different projects over the years. We've all seen them at their best on the screen and on the red carpet, however you may not have seen them some of these contexts. Here are 20 pics of the Harry Potter cast that will have you looking at them in quite a different light.

20 Mind If I Slytherin? Get it?

A classic from Tom Felton's Instagram feed, here's a limited edition T-shirt of a popular Draco meme, which is no doubt already gone by now. While the line was never used in the books or movies once, it seems to have become a staple for Tom's character regardless. If you haven't seen it by now, there are literally thousands of results on Google images for you to browse through, most of them showing Draco making various offers to "Slither In" to various denizens of Hogwarts. Yes, this has also been combined with the Harry and Draco romance idea as seen above, in case you were interested. If you happened to miss your limited edition chance for such an item, you might be able to get one of these shirts on eBay or something. You might want to consider whether or not you want to wear it around your Gryffindor friends or not though.

19 It's Definitely Wrong

So, we don't have any arguments with this statement,... actually we don't really have anything to say at all about this issue in particular. Only that Oliver and James Phelps are really living up to their roles as Fred and George Weasley here. Not only are they actual twins portraying twins, they apparently have the same sense of humor as their roles have become known for. There is actually some talk about them switching roles under the nose of some of the other actors according to interviews the two have done. If Dumbledore would be ashamed of this, that's only because he'd be ashamed of anything the twins may have done for a laugh. No word yet on what Fred and George have to say on this issue,... I'm kidding. If only Hogwarts students had access to social media, what else might we have seen from these two?

18 Emma's Wardrobe Malfunction

So, if you're as big of a Harry Potter fan as I am, then you probably saw this one coming . Here we see Emma Watson at the Half-Blood Prince premiere in 2009 in the rain, wearing possibly the thinnest dress she's ever been seen in and guess what happened? Yep. The world saw her under garments. It might very possibly be one of the most notorious pics of Emma that has ever been taken. Despite that, the actress herself has acknowledged the picture and seems to have seen the funny side in it. In fact, this photo was actually shown to her during an interview with David Lettermen, to which she responds "At least I'm wearing underwear." So perhaps it isn't so notorious after all, just an accident that could've happened to anyone and something we can look back at as another piece of film premiere craziness.

17 Bonnie Wright, Prison Inmate

Taken from the set of Those Who Wander, this pic showing Bonnie Wright, aka Ginny Weasley, in full county jail attire along with co-star Patrick Davis. The film is still as of yet unreleased, having been in post-production for several years, leaving us with little context for this picture. All we know for sure is that Bonnie plays a girl named Zoe, who goes on a road trip with several friends in rural Georgia. According to the film's IMBD page, the trip takes a turn for the worst after the problems Zoe and her friends are running from start catching up to them. Beyond that though, there isn't much else to say why we see her in jail clothes. One can assume we may be seeing Bonnie in a cell at some point, at least we will if the movie is ever made available to the public.

16 Gary Oldman as Dracula

via longtake.it

In 1992, Gary Oldman played the starring role in this Francis Ford Coppola adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula. Seen here smiling wickedly as he contemplates running that sword of his through actress Winona Ryder, this version of Dracula is a long way from home. The centuries old vampire has crossed hundreds of miles to pursue the love interest of a young lawyer in London and also to bring as much terror and bloodshed as possible along the way. You probably wouldn't even recognize this as the face of Sirius Black without knowing the actor's name, which is actually a Gary Oldman specialty. He's also played Commissioner Gordon in the Dark Knight series, the main villain Carnegie in The Book Of Eli, and many others since his debut with Remembrance in 1982. His ability to change both his voice and appearance for characters is well documented, and probably has a few other roles that may surprise you.

15 Emma Watson Kicking Back

via pinterest.com

Sipping beer after a meal is something anyone could enjoy really. This is just one of several pictures that have surfaced online of Emma enjoying herself with an adult beverage since she's grown into a young woman. Not the first of her seen with a Corona either. Quite a different look than that of the Hermione Granger we know. Most people probably know about her most infamous role in This Is The End, in which we see her robbing a group of older men for their alcohol at axe point. It just goes to show that there's more to her than just a teenage witch and Disney princess. While this is definitely not something you want to get caught doing at Hogwarts, who can blame a young star for wanting to take it easy now and again?

14 Daniel Radcliffe Living It Up

Emma isn't the only one who needs a little R&R now and again. Here we see Daniel Radcliffe enjoying himself in what looks like a bar of some kind, just having a good old time with what appears to have been a few drinks. Just another example to show us that these aren't exactly the kids we've seen on screen for over 17 years since the Philosopher's Stone. The older they get, the more we find them in situations most young adults get into from time to time. What's the fun of being a world renowned actor if you can't have some fun now and again anyway? Even Harry Potter himself enjoyed a few butterbeers while he wasn't doing homework or trying to avoid being murdered by spiders, Death Eaters, three headed dogs and etc. Perhaps this is what happens when your team wins the Quidditch World Cup, which wouldn't be the craziest way to celebrate a sports victory.

13 Matthew Lewis Showing Off His Attitude

I don't think anyone expected the man behind Neville Longbottom to turn out the way we see him here. Like Emma, Daniel and most of the others, we can't help but notice how much these actors have grown up since we've gotten to know them. We don't get to see them as child actors any longer, but as full fledged adults who go on to prove they're not just the roles that they portray. What's great about it in this instance is how one of the most pitied and bullied characters in all of young adult fiction ended up being portrayed by a guy with a six pack and beard. I mean really, who could have ever pictured Neville with a beard? Going from the one who's always picked on, always the bunt of jokes, to being on the cover of a magazine showing off his abs? I say good for you Neville, good for you.

12 Rupert Grint and the Tiny Guitar

So, I don't think this really needs anymore context than we already have. It's Rupert Grint, with a tiny guitar, making faces. Also he's wearing a newspaper clipping of Andy Warhol's shooting. No word on what he was trying to play here, whether it's a ballad, extended solo, or a solid blues lick. I'd like to think he's playing some kind of cover of The Weird Sisters. It's hard not to see this one as Ron Weasley himself, with all the times we've seen these kinds of faces from the actor on screen. This talent for making faces has actually become quite a specialty of his, as his co-stars have attested to. If guitars were more prominent instruments in the magical world, this is totally something Ron Weasley might get caught doing. At least until he's given detention by Professor McGonagall.

11 Katie Leung, Ripping Out Your Heart

The actress behind Harry's first crush, Cho Chang, is seen here in the Frances Ya-Chu Cowhig production, Snow In Midsummer. This play is an adaptation of a 13th century Chinese classic and apparently features Katie pulling the beating heart from another character. It's not surprising, since the character she plays lost her mother at age three, and was sold as a child bride by age seven to pay for her father's travel expenses. Like Harry, she definitely has a difficult time in life before she even reaches adulthood. Unfortunately for her though, she's never given an invitation to a magical school from a half-giant groundskeeper.  The story actually gets a lot more complicated after that, with the eventual consequence of her father's actions resulting in a lot more trouble and, also, snow falling in midsummer. The production was highly praised by theatre reviewers, but unfortunately, you'll have to see it on stage if you want to know exactly why she's holding someone's bleeding organs.

10 Alan Rickman's Sexy Side

Definitely not the Severus Snape we know. Purple hair, purple suit, and.... pink underwear? I'm guessing this was from before he became a professor, probably something he was trying out in college. Not sure about that doll he's holding here either. Still, it's nice to see Rickman in something we'd never have expected. This isn't the only time he's shown he has a fun side either. In several movies he's been shown to dabble in the strange, including being tied half naked to an inflatable chair and claiming "I shall sit here consumed with lust for the rest of the evening." Not to mention the sheer amount of Snape fan fiction out there, though I suppose that isn't something we can credit Rickman himself with. He's not always such a bleak and humorless guy after all I guess. I wonder what Lily might have thought of all this?

9 Robbie And The Machine Gun

Rubeus Hagrid looks nothing like a gentle giant in this episode of The Comic Strip Presents... Entitled "The Carnage Continues." This action style comedy show features actor Robbie Coltrane parodying a British lawmaker as a Hollywood style action hero, taking no hostages as he fights to take over the Greater London Council. Just imagine your local city council president gone rouge, taking weapons and doing whatever it takes to maintain his position regulating traffic laws and noise ordinances. It may seem strange to some, but inside the world of British television, Robbie is actually quite well known for a variety of eccentric roles such as this. We can actually thank J.K. Rowling herself for his appearance in the Harry Potter films, as he was her first choice for the role. Hagrid may not be legally allowed to use his magic, but can he still use a machine gun? I don't see why not.

8 Brendan Gleeson Taking Hostages

The man behind Alastair "Mad Eye" Moodie has also portrayed a number of vicious and eccentric roles in his time, not the least of which would be his character Stubs from the movie Turbulence. Assisting Ray Liotta's character in bringing chaos to a flying passenger plane, the plot centers around a woman (Teri) having to do her best inside a plane over-run with escaped criminals, trying to save herself and the passengers from most vicious death. The guards and other crew members are all dead, and pretty soon so are most of the convicts as well. The passengers are all locked in a "Pantry" for the duration of the film, definitely not doing much to improve their flight experience. Moodie may have his bad days, but this is totally not worthy for an Order of the Phoenix member, unless he's being controlled by Barty Crouch Jr.!

7 Drarry, the Couple We Never Saw Coming,...

Taken from Tom Felton's Instagram, we get a snapshot of what might have been if only that first train ride to Hogwarts had been just a little different. Luckily, for anyone who's ever been interested in this kind of fan fiction daydreaming, Photoshop can do just about anything. One Google image search of "Drarry" will probably give you more than you need, though it's definitely not all you'll find.  This is just one example of the Draco Malfoy actor having fun with his and Daniel's roles. Looking through his social media and interviews, you can find quite a few instances of him enjoying his Slytherin persona in a number of ways, including more in this very article. Just think of how the Half Blood Prince would have turned out under these circumstances...

6 Daniel Showing Off His Chest

From the 2007 production of Equus, we see Dan getting his first chance to show off something that Harry Potter never got the chance to. At the time headlines were made, while people around the country were apparently shocked to see the young star engaging in revealing himself on stage. What's possibly more interesting is that his character in the play is actually a young man being treated by a psychiatrist trying to understand his fascination with horses. Apparently it was inspired by a real crime. Daniel also did an interview with Playboy shortly after this to discuss the part and other more mature themes. It gives something to all the Daniel Radcliffe fans out there who might want a little something more than sweaters and robes I guess, or something less I mean.

5 Ron's Got A Gun

From the 2010 film Wild Target, we have Rupert Grint here seen holding a gun as the character Tony, a young man who is unwittingly being trained to be a paid killer. The film is an action-comedy about an assassin trying to break out of the business, while at the same time trying somehow to please his relentless mother. Definitely a role worthy of the actor who famously portrayed falling in love for a brief spell with one Romilda Vane. That isn't what we're here for however, assassin or no assassin, we're here for the reaction seen below the screenshot. The comment says it all in this one, seriously Ron? Helping a thief? That's going to lose Gryffindor some points.

4 Speaking Of Abs...

via newnownext.com

Matthew Lewis hasn't just shown them off on the magazine! Here we can see him enjoying what appears to be an Ab showing party along with his fellow Ab loving enthusiasts. Matthew has been pretty open and honest about his sexuality ever since he's been old enough to express it, so to those familiar it shouldn't come as much of a shock to see. It definitely hasn't gotten as much attention as Dumbledore did after he came out though. I'm actually not sure Dumbledore would disapprove of this, though it's hard to say. Rita Skeeter never mentioned it in her book. What else can be said about this picture; Neville's been having quite a nice time since he left school I suppose. How does he find time for this when he's supposed to be teaching Herbology?

3 Rupert Does His James Dean Impression

Seen here with Kimberly Nixon, we get a shot of Rupert Grint looking much more relaxed than I think we've ever seen Ron. On second thought though, I actually could see Ron like this a few years down the line after being married to Hermione for a while. J.K. Rowling actually based the character on an ex-husband of hers. This shot was actually taken from the Rupert Grint biography website, though like most pictures we've seen from him there doesn't appear to be much context. Still, it's a much cooler look from Rupert than what we've seen previously. No funny faces, tiny guitars, or arachnophobia here. Just leaning back with a drink in his hand, watching the party, not a care in the world. Sometimes you just need to kick back, let all that wizarding war stuff fall into place on it's own. Why not?

2 Wanted For Burglary

This was a real poster that was really pasted all over a town in New Zeeland by the actual police! I wonder if Robbie ever saw this unexpectedly at some point? While the poster clearly states that Robbie Coltrane is not the suspect, they still have his picture under the words "Wanted," and "Active Burglar." I guess the cops in New Zealand feel comfortable enough to have some fun with their job, which is actually kind of uplifting if you think about it. How much trouble could there be if the police are pulling stunts like this? Come to think about it, how much trouble could there be if they're making wanted posters for teenage burglars? Apparently the real culprit was only sixteen, with lank greasy hair and travels by bike... not a flying bike was it? If so the connection might not be so "ridikkulus" after all. See what I did there?

1 Alan Rickman in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

You've seen him as Severus Snape and maybe even as Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd, but you may not have seen him like this. In 1991, Alan Rickman played as the vicious Sheriff of Nottingham in this Kevin Reynolds adaptation of Robin Hood. No doubt fitting for him to play a man who murders Robin's family, steals his estate, and holds the kingdom in a state of terror and oppression. Not a bad start for a would be Death Eater. The level of torture we seen here would be enough to make Bellatrix Lestrange herself blush. The film itself, however, was not unanimously well received. It was panned by audiences and critics alike, and has since become a little known piece of Rickman's career. According to Rickman himself, he actually thought the script for this movie was so bad, he ended up changing several of his lines behind the screenwriter's backs.
