Voldemort, the Dark Lord, doesn't seem the type to have kids. I mean, he's got a face only a Death Eater could love, he's obsessed with defeating Harry Potter, and he is more of a living smoke wisp than an actual person. It may surprise you to note that Voldemort did indeed take some time to procreate and contribute to the surplus population. In J.K. Rowling's play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, we were introduced to Delphini, a young woman who ended up revealing herself as Voldemort's daughter.

Now, I know what you're thinking right now. And you're right. Wizarding parents sure choose extremely weird names. Delphini, also known as Delphi by her friends, definitely picked the short straw in the naming department. Oh, was that not your initial thought upon hearing that Voldemort had a child? My bad. But, you have to admit, Delphini is one strange name. You have probably only heard of Delphi if you have read The Cursed Child or seen it performed live on stage. If you missed out on Rowling's work, you will have no clue about anything having to do with Delphi, but I bet you're extremely curious about her. Have no fear, dear reader, for I have read Harry Potter and the Cursed Child for the express purpose of being able to write and tell you all about Voldemort's daughter. Yup, that's the only reason. Read on if you want to learn some extra details about the daughter of He Who Shall Not Be Named.

25 No Hogwarts For You

Every Harry Potter fan who is a friend of mine has this hidden desire to get that letter to go to Hogwarts. It's like a not-so-subtle closet dream of theirs. Turns out, they have something in common with Voldemort's daughter.

Delphi did not go to Hogwarts. She was kept at home with her adopted guardian (most likely home-schooled or self-taught). Given how adept she was at using magic later on in life, she's evidence that you don't need to go to Hogwarts to be a witch... My friends will be excited.

24 Battling Granger And Potter

Remember how I was talking about Delphi not getting herself a magical education at Hogwarts? She definitely does not appear to have needed it. Towards the end of The Cursed Child, she gets in a duel with both an adult Harry Potter and an adult Hermione Granger... and she was able to hold her own against the two of them.

When you can duel the smartest witch of our time and the “Boy Who Lived,” going to Hogwarts seems kind of beneath you, doesn't it?

23 Snake Tongue

As expected from anyone who shares the blood of Voldemort, Delphi is a Parselmouth. For anyone who does not know, or has forgotten what a Parselmouth is, a Parselmouth is a person who can talk to snakes. Apparently, it just comes naturally to you. Harry Potter was able to talk to snakes without even being aware of it.

Delphi had her own hidden room that was only able to be opened using Parseltongue. This trait is known to be hereditary, so Delphi can thank her dear old dad for that.

22 Gotta Catch That Horcrux

Horcruxes were Voldemort's way of staying alive forever. He locked away bits of his soul into different magical artifacts so that if someone ever Avada Kedavra-ed him, he would be able to live on.

When Harry found out about Delphi's existence, he postulated on whether or not she was a Horcrux. While she is not, technically-speaking, an actual Horcrux, she somewhat functions as one. While she lives, Voldemort's memory lives on. Now that I think about it, that's probably why Voldemort thought about having a kid.

21 One Lestrange Mom

You could kind of tell that Bellatrix Lestrange had a huge dollop of Voldemort weirdness running in her veins. She was definitely head over heels for the Dark Lord. She slurped up every word he uttered like a hamster sipping water from its dispenser.

It is no surprise that Bellatrix is the mother of Voldemort's child. She must have been ecstatic to be chosen for the opportunity. Whatever cuckoo-traits Delphi exhibited in The Cursed Child, she inherited that from her mother.

20 Euphemia Who?

The events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows saw both of Delphi's parents gone from the face of the Earth, leaving Delphi alone. After that big Battle of Hogwarts, she was placed in the care of a woman named Euphemia Rowle.

Not much is known about Euphemia herself, except for what Delphi says about her. Apparently, Euphemia was a neglectful guardian. The Rowle family, however, is known in Wizarding circles as being one of the best examples of a pure-blood family.

19 Born Bad

I'm hesitant to say that Delphi was born wicked, but evidence just goes to show that she had too much anger in her bloodlines already. Without a moment's hesitation, she was able to perform the Unforgivable Curses on several people.

At the final confrontation with Harry, Harry was quick to feel sorry for her because she was just a child trying to connect with her father. Exsqueeze me, but Harry was also in a similar situation and he did not turn to the Dark Side.

18 Where We're Going, We Don't Need Brooms

I always thought that the coolest part of the Harry Potter universe was the broom-flying. After seeing the movies, I can't tell you how many times I got caught straddling a Swiffer Floor Mop pretending it was a broomstick. Even though flying without a broomstick is supposed to be a higher form of magic, I never liked the idea.

Delphi is one of those witches who can fly without a broom. I don't envy her with this power. I actually pity her for it. Who wants to fly without a broom? Or at least a Swiffer Floor Mop.

17 Paid Parenthood

Perhaps part of the reason Delphi feels so cold toward her guardian, Euphemia Rowle, is because she found out that Euphemia was paid to care for her. When Delphi gets an opportunity to monologue in The Cursed Child, she complains about how the only reason Euphemia agreed to look after her was because of the gold involved.

Euphemia was given some gold Galleons in exchange for some mediocre parenting of the Dark Lord's kid. I can't decide who got the worser end of that deal to this day.

16 The Half Blood Hypocrite

Voldemort's whole mission was to create a pure-blooded Wizard utopia sans any half-blood or Muggle-born witches or wizards. He is such a hypocrite. His own father, Tom Riddle, Sr. was a Muggle.

Delphi, who claims to follow the same ideology as her father, is also as hypocritical. The same Muggle blood that runs through her father now runs through her. The pure-blood agenda has always been nonsensical, but given Voldemort and Delphi's past, it's even more foolish than it was.

15 Bird In A Cage

Delphi's childhood wasn't completely loveless. She had a pet Augurey to keep her company, and everyone knows how affectionate pet birds can be.

Delphi took to this pet Augurey so much, that she chose it to be her symbol. For those of you who don't know, an Augurey is a fantastic magical creature that can predict when it's going to rain. It was originally believed that they could predict a person's demise, but that was later disproved by the Magizoologist, Gulliver Pokeby.

14 Failure Is Not An Option

Delphi does not take losing well. At the end of The Cursed Child, when she stands defeated at the hands of Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Malfoy, she states that she would rather they end her life or Obliviate her instead of letting her live knowing she failed her father.

Delphi is basically saying she would rather lose the memory of her failure than live with it forever in her brain. Instead of going to school for a magical education, Delphi should spend some time on learning how to lose gracefully.

13 The Wandless Wonder

The Harry Potter universe has occasionally thrown our way examples of witches and wizards who can use magic without the use of their wands. The lore tells us that wands help a witch or wizard direct their magic, and without it, a lot more concentration is needed or things can go awry.

Delphi is able to perform wandless magic. Seriously? Did she even need to go to Hogwarts if she could somehow teach herself to do that? Wandless magic is no joke, you guys.

12 The Harry Potter Coincidence

Given how old Delphi is in The Cursed Child, she would have been a year old when both of her parents passed away at the Battle of Hogwarts. She shares this striking similarity with Harry Potter as both Delphi and Harry lost both of their parents when they were close to the one-year mark.

Then, they were both trundled off to be raised by people who were less than happy to raise them. At least Euphemia Rowle got paid to bring up Delphi. The Dursleys never saw a pound.

11 The End Of Slytherin's Line

Voldemort is related to Salazar Slytherin on his mother's side. This bit of information has always been very important to him since he's so fixated with bloodlines and all that. This may have even influenced him to get Delphi with Bellatrix Lestrange.

If Delphi had not been born, Salazar Slytherin's line would have perished with Voldemort. As things stand with The Cursed Child, Delphi is now the last surviving heir of Slytherin. I'm guessing some Dark Wizards would be pleased by this knowledge.

10 Uncomfortable Familial Discussions

Fans of the Harry Potter movies might be surprised to note that Bellatrix Lestrange had a husband. Weird, right? She was always clinging to Voldemort. You would think her husband would have had some mild objections. Her husband, Rodolphus Lestrange, spent time in Azkaban with her.

Years after the Battle of Hogwarts, Rodolphus was the one to approach Delphi and tell her about her true heritage. So... does that mean Rodolphus was okay with his wife having a close encounter with the Dark Lord?

9 Getting To Know Harry Potter

During Delphi's final duel with Harry Potter, she mentions how much she has studied him, his dueling style, and his personality. She even claims that she knows Harry better than her father (Voldemort) knew him.

Begging your pardon, Delphi, but I highly doubt that. Your father had a piece of his soul locked away inside Harry. That's how close they were. But, it's nice to know that obsessing over Harry Potter is a family trait. Like father, like daughter, am I right?

8 When Villains Unite

The plot of The Cursed Child follows Albus Potter and his best friend, Scorpius Malfoy, as they get fooled into altering time by the wicked Delphi. In one timeline that Albus and Scorpius created, a pure-blood hierarchy won out and Delphi was in charge of the Wizarding World under the pseudonym of the Augurey.

One of Delphi's underlings in this world was none other than Dolores Umbridge. There should definitely be a rule against such a foul woman existing in multiple timelines.

7 The Loving Malfoy Family

I don't know why Delphi was sent to Euphemia Rowle when she had perfectly good family members available, who probably would not have minded to care for the Dark Lord's daughter.

Bellatrix Lestrange's sister was Narcissa Malfoy, mother to Draco Malfoy, meaning Draco and Dephi are technically cousins. Delphi might have been raised quite happily with them. They even share the same pale blonde, silvery hair that is common in the Malfoy family.

6 Doing The Azkaban Jam

After trying to work her dark deeds in The Cursed Child, Delphi is sent to Azkaban. Azkaban, as any self-respecting Harry Potter fan knows, is the Wizarding prison that is mentioned quite frequently in both the books and the movies.

Like her mother before her, Delphi is now doomed to turn even more bonkers after her stint in Azkaban as those Dementors guarding the place are no joke. If we thought Delphi was crazy before, just wait until The Cursed Child's sequel comes out.
