Niantic has gifted players of Wizard’s Unite with a new set of SOS Training skill trees and spells. The Harry Potter game has already won the heart of Hogwarts fans since its inception and now the recent update will have players exploring the length and breadth of their neighborhood.

The new set of SOS Training skill trees and spells will be available to players level 4 and above and will be unlockable for all tier 4 players regardless of their Profession. A new skill that is being introduced is Mastery, which allows players to amplify the power of their spells that then gives wizards and witches the chance to tackle stronger enemies. Departure Denial is another skill that minimizes the chances of enemies escaping your combat and going on the run that renders them yours for the taking. Alchemist’s will rejoice with the Potions Effect skill that makes your concoctions more potent and, combined with the Brew Time Reduction, you’ll be a potions whizz like Hermione in no time.

With the SOS Training covered, players can now indulge in some new spells to try out and assist in gameplay. The set of spells released in the update are called Field Charms and can be called upon to appear directly on the map. The Trace Charm uncovers local Traces when projected onto an existing one. For an extra sparkle of Spell Energy, the Inn Charm conjures additional energy on the map when cast upon an inn. Finally, the Greenhouse Charm coughs up bonus Potion Ingredients that can sometimes be rare when the spell is cast on greenhouses close by.

Harry Potter Wizards Unite gameplay foundables spellcasting

Niantic has also supplied three new resources for players to use as an aid to unlocking the aforementioned skills. Field Guides and Ministry Manuals can be earned by returning Foundables and inputting images in the Registry while Defense Against the Dark Arts Books can be obtained by taking part in in-game events.

Niantic’s Pokémon Go spin-off has been largely accepted by Harry Potter fans, however Wizards Unite has not obtained the same size of following as the former. Wizards does have its advantages over PoGo including the ability to store assets and generally project more detail into the gameplay. PoGo flaunts itself as being more of a social and physical activity, where fans of Pokémon will never get tired of throwing Pokéballs. Wizards Unite is a sturdy walking companion and players won’t tire of casting spells either.
