Netflix has just announced who will be the voice of Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider anime. Hayley Atwell, best known for her role as Marvel’s Agent Carter, will voice Lara in Netflix’s upcoming animated series.

Atwell first rose to prominence as Lady Elizabeth Foster in The Duchess, which saw her nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 2008 British Independent Film Awards. She then earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in The Pillars of the Earth miniseries before landing her biggest international gig as Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger. She's since appeared in several other Marvel movies, starred in her own spin-off Agent Carter TV Series, and plays Carter again in the animated What If...? series.

Netflix's Tomb Raider was first announced in January and will be an animated series based on the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy on the PS4. The series will take place after the game, so Atwell will play a slightly older Lara Croft than Camilla Luddington's rendition.

The show will be written by The Witcher: Blood Origin screenwriter Tasha Huo and be produced in collaboration with Legendary Entertainment. No release date has been set and details remain scant, but gaining star talent like Atwell is certainly a sign that the show is coming along.
