Hearthstone's variety of game modes lets you choose something to scratch, whatever itch you are feeling. Battlegrounds is great for a refreshing take on the formula, Ranked for the competitive players out there, and Wild for those who want no restrictions.

Wild lets you use any card from any set, eliminating the restrictions from Standard. Some cards are naturally popular, so they will have a high pick rate across any mode. Others are specific to Wild, as it lets players loose to cause some chaos to earn their victories. Either way, there are some great cards that are played often in the mode you should keep in mind.

10 Biology Project

Hearthstone Wild Cards Biology Project mana crystals

Any player needs good cards, but savvy players will have game knowledge and skill by their side. By having a good strategy, you can take a victory. With a plan, you may need to take a trade-off to move forward in the match to gain the upper hand.

Biology Project gives you and your opponent two mana crystals. It pushes you and your foe forward two rounds instead of waiting for that amount of crystals. This one mana costing spell for Druids is perfect if you are an aggressive player with higher costing cards and are itching to get those onto the field.

9 Mutanus The Devourer

Hearthstone Wild Cards Mutanus the Devourer eat minion

Having a theme for your deck is a great way to have a cohesive build. You can have a flow to your turns that evolves your side of the match. Murlocks are one you can go for as they have all sorts of fun perks that make them go from puny, slimy weaklings to mighty minions who are still slimy.

Mutanus the Devourer is a higher-costing card that requires seven mana. It is a hefty price for a 4/4 minion, but it devours a card from your opponent's hand, thus giving it the stats of its food. Now, it'll need to eat something substantial to get its health and attack up a substantial amount, but with a stronger minion on your side and a removed mystery minion from the other player, it is a good one to put in your deck.

8 Moonlit Guidance

Hearthstone Wild Cards Moonlit Guidance discover copy

Every class has a way of getting a combo going. Some might lead to an extended chain reaction, while others are short. No matter what happens, you want a flow to your turnm as you can make moves that see instant action or come to fruition as soon as possible.

A way to keep that river of cards flowing in your favor is by placing something that can move things from its place. Moonlit Guidance will Discover a copy of a card in your deck, and if you play that copy the turn you cast the spell, you draw the original. Discover requires some luck, but out of the choices given, you should have something juicy to play and follow up by drawing it. Place your faith in it, and you could have an extra of something to lean the match to your favor.

7 Dirty Rat

Hearthstone Wild Cards Dirty Rat taunt

Risk is something that is not for everyone. Some cards have abilities that seem only to harm you and assist the other player. Dirty Rat is risky, but people use it for good reasons if you have the right strategy to pull it off.

Dirty Rat is a two mana minion with Taunt. The 2/6 minion has Battlecry, which summons a minion from your foe's hand. Giving them a freebie sounds like a terrible idea, but if they are spell-heavy, focused on a few specific minions, or have Battlecries that could be rendered useless, like Reno Jackson, it will come in your favor.

6 Thrive In The Shadows

Hearthstone Wild Cards Thrive in the Shadows Discover spell

Copies may not always come up, but you can still shuffle things around to bring up a card to the forefront for you to play earlier than the game might have intended for you. Thrive in the Shadows is a Discover spell that gives you a spell from your deck.

The card is similar to Shadow Visions, except that one summons a copy of a spell; this hands you the spell from your deck. Spells like Palm Reading or Idol of Y'Shaarj open up how useful Thrive in the Shadows can be when you need to put out a spell quickly rather than waiting and hoping you draw it.

5 Palm Reading

Hearthstone Wild Cards Palm Reading reduce cast

To Discover a card is one thing, but when you can save up on mana too, that is a tasty bonus. The Priest spell Palm Reading lets you Discover a spell, which will reduce the spells in your hand by one.

For spell-heavy players, this is a great card to have. You will want as many things at your disposal that can save you mana to play as many cards in a single turn. Play this when you have some low-costing spells, then you could splurge in a single turn as some could become free if you are holding any that cost one mana.

4 Aquatic Form

Hearthstone Wild Most Played Aquatic Form Dredge

When you begin a match, how your deck is shuffled can make for a difficult time. Everyone gets unlucky as they cannot get the right cards for the perfect moment. Aquatic Form will help, especially if you have two in your deck to move things around a little.

This Druid spell has Dredge, which lets you look at the bottom three cards of your deck and put one to the top. For a spell that costs nothing, that is nice to have. If you have the mana to play the card you chose, it is even better as it lets you play it that turn. This is a great card for players who want to move quickly and make sure they have something effective each turn.

3 Shadow Visions

Hearthstone Wild Cards Shadow Visions Discover copy spell

Some cards are irreplaceable, while others have something similar but better. Arguably the improved alternative of Thrive in the Shadows, Shadow Visions will Discover a copy of a spell in your deck.

This is particularly useful for spell-focused builds. This Priest card can get you another use out of a powerful spell that can devastate your opponent. If you want to do damage, you could draw up a Holy Nova or Dragonfire Potion. It can make for powerful combos; like if you have Lyra the Sunshard, which gives you two random Priest spells, you can gain some extra use out of that ability.

2 Cathedral Of Atonement

Hearthstone Wild Most Played Cathedral of Atonement draw card

Some spells can be tricky as you will need the expertise to utilize them properly. Others are simple enough that a novice can use them without thought, or an expert can elevate it.

Cathedral of Atonement is a simple Priest spell that gives 2/1 to a minion and lets you draw a card. If you are powering up a minion or need an extra card, it is a good play for three mana. For early turns, it is a great way to progress the match by improving a minion or giving you a card.

1 Prince Renathal

Hearthstone-Wild-Most-Played-Prince-Renathal 40 deck and health

Some cards are popular no matter where you turn. The perks of a spell or minion can work for any deck by having broad effects or something that will benefit any kind of player.

Prince Renathal is a three mana Legendary minion. At first glance, that rarity seems extreme with its 3/4 stats. Look down and see that it will boost your Hero health and deck size to 40. No matter who you are, you will want more cards in your arsenal and health to take extra hits. If you have cards that make you draw or take away health, as many do for Warlocks, this will be vital for you.
