Henry Cavill just shared with us the trials and tribulations of building a new gaming rig, and it’s so very much an allegory for 2020.

We can all agree that 2020 is a dumpster fire. That's pretty much a given, and we're not going to dwell on the whys and wherefores of this statement. But what we will do instead is turn our attention to our precious Geralt, Henry Cavill, as he takes us on a journey via his Instagram.

Cavill decided recently to up his game--literally. He's purchased top-notch components and built a new gaming rig that will surely allow him to play Witcher 3 for a fourth time on max settings. Henry does his best to hide the logos, but we can definitely make out an RTX 2080 Ti and a shiny new Ryzen 9 CPU, both cutting edge computer parts that will serve him well.

At the start, things are looking good. He carefully reviews the manual and then goes about inserting the Ryzen chip in the appropriate slot. “They gotta fit right, you gotta be gentle,” remarks Cavill in the video's captions, all set to the dulcet tones of Barry White.

Everything starts out fine, but then things quickly go off the rails when the cooler pops out of the case and he can't quite figure out what to do with the coolant cables in order to fit the giant RTX 2080 video card.

This build literally took poor Henry hours. You can see the sun setting through the window as he's forced to engage a small desk-side lamp to see inside the case. And indeed, Henry admits that this build was very much a "many hours later" meme in the making.

Finally, the moment of truth. The power goes on, and the new PC boots. Only, the CPU cooler was apparently installed upside down.

In true gamer fashion, Cavill gets to this issue the following day. He "had some gaming to do" in the meantime.

The next day and some alcohol wipes later, and Cavill has got the CPU cooler righted and displaying temperature readings appropriately--in metric, of course.
