In my humble opinion, I believe that the Assassin’s Creed series contains some of the most entertaining, engaging, and well written sandbox style video games that have been created in the modern era of gaming. Though I will admit to having a respectful distaste for the bizarre sci-fi aspects of the series, I firmly believe that the parts of the plot which occur in the specified/game specific past locations and world are the absolute bees knees. Is there anyway that I could acquire a copy of these games that don’t include those dull and extensive modern day sections of gameplay? But I digress.

Each and every single one of the games in this series is simply decked out to the nines with expansive worlds, trillions of collectibles and achievements, and so many other features and interactions unique to the series. And that is only considering the aspects of the games which relate to the main plot. The worlds in which the games occur are absolutely brimming with easter eggs, hidden objects, and secret worlds just begging to be explored. I would like to think that the developers get a little notification every single time a player uncovered some deeply buried secret or hidden object within the game but that might just be wishful thinking. I just want to make sure that their effort and hard work does not go unnoticed. So, without further ado, allow me to shed a little light on some of these thoroughly entertaining features that have remained hidden within the series.

25 Speak In Nothing But Pirate Clichés

Via Instant Gaming

Look, if you’re going to play as a pirate you have to commit. This is one thing that you simply cannot phone it. If you decide to makes a game surrounding piracy then there better be an option to become the most stereotypical and over the top pirate the world has ever seen this side of Disney. Luckily, Black Flag has a function built into the game which will allow players to become the over the top pirate of their dreams. If a player completes 10 Abstergo Challenges, they will be able to force Edward to speak in nothing but over the top pirate cliches.

24 Find A Familiar Face (Or Two)

Via Den of Geek

Here is a question for all you nerds and self proclaimed geeks out there: if a game contains no easter eggs, meta references, or hidden inside jokes between players and developers at all, is it even a game? And the only thing better than cheeky little fandom references that you can smirk and shake your head at are easter eggs that bring the real world into the virtual one. In Unity, the protagonist stumbles across two brothers named Victor and Hugo. This is a reference to the author of the novel Les Miserables, named Victor Hugo. Ten points for cleverness.

23 Hunt Down La Volpe's Bite

Via Gamesplanet

Okay, I will admit that I was originally drawn to this secret weapon from Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood due to its completely wicked name. I mean, come on. “La Volpe’s Bite” is one of the coolest names for a sword that I have ever seen. The best thing about this game is that it is absolutely brimming with secret, hidden, and specialized weapons for the players to find and equip. This particularly rad sword can be obtained by reached the third tier rank in the Thieves Guild challenge.

22 Discover The Assassin's Tombs

Via Ocean of Games

The best part of any sandbox game is the exploration. In all honesty, games that don’t let you explore freely lose major points in my books. I need my virtual freedom, thank you very much. And the best part of the Assassin’s Creed series is that their worlds are absolutely filled with places simply brimming with treasure and collectibles for you to explore outside of the games story/plot entirely. In the first game in the series, players can explore six unique Assassin’s Tombs which have been decked out with the finest relics throughout history. These tombs can be found in Florence, Venice, San Gimignano, and Forli.

21 Nothing Better Than A Flaming Arrow

Via Ubisoft

Flaming arrows are one of the coolest items you can equip in just about any game. I mean, come on. They are flaming arrows. Few things can beat the raw power behind that tool. But gathering the equipment needed to create those buggers can be exceptionally irritating. But Assassin’s Creed: Origins makes things a little bit easier for its players. In this game, you can light your arrows with that torch that you always seem to be carrying around. That’s right. Instant flaming arrows with equipment you already have on you. What could be better than that?

20 Turn The People Against Each Other

Via Polygon

The only thing better than saving all of the citizens from imminent danger is to become that danger yourself. In Revelations, certain cheats allow players to control the NPC’s of the world as if they were some horrifying deity. Completing different challenges will unlock different ways of controlling the people of the sandbox world. Completing the Romani challenges will cause the Romani people to poison the guards, which will keep them off of your tail. Completing the thief challenges will cause thieves to pickpocket money for you. And completing the mercenary challenges will cause them to stop the beggars of the world.

19 Find All The Stone Circles

Via Game

Stone circles, both virtual and real, have captivated, mystified, and confused humans (again, both real and virtual) for thousands of years. If you feel as though you’ve been missing out on all of the stone circle hullabaloo, then sit tight because I am going to let you in on a little insider information regarding the stone circles in Assassin’s Creed: Origins. First off, I think we can all agree that collecting things can get exhausting at times. So, without further ado, here are the locations of the twelve stone circles. Siwa, Isolated Desert (x2,) Iment Nome (x2,) White Desert Oasis, Ka-Khem Nome, Uma Nome (x2,) Quattara Depression, and Faiyum (x2.)

18 Hidden Things In Whitechapel

Via Gamesplanet

If you ever get your hands on a copy of Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, do not skip out on Whitechapel. That district is absolutely brimming with hidden objects and collectibles. Seriously. The majority of the hidden objects which are scattered throughout the game will be found in this are of the map. Pressed flowers, elusive illustrations, and the fandom favourite vintage bottles can be found in abundance in this area of the map. So grab your finest coat (the one with the biggest pockets) and head on down to Whitechapel as soon as virtually possible.

17 Discover The Dagger Of Brutus

via: twitter.com

Look, the weapons that my character comes equipped with are fine and dandy. And the ones that I pick up from my enemies will do the trick. But, I don’t know if this is just me, but I crave something more. I want those hidden weapons. The secret ones that the rogue developers wrote into the code, hoping that someone would figure out how to get their virtual hands on. I want The Dagger of Brutus from Brotherhood. This dagger has 100% maxed stats and can dole out more damage than you’ve ever dreamed of. The only way to get this mighty beast into your hands is to complete each and every single one of the Romulus lairs.

16 Never Run Out Of Loot

Via PCworld

When one is engaged in a life of piracy, one needs to be smart about their loot. It’s not like you could take out a loan at the bank. But treasure hunting can get boring, tedious, and even be lethal at times. But what if I were to tell you that there was a way to make the game provide you with unlimited loot? In Black Flag, players can board the Spanish and British ships which reside near Florida Island. But you better be on your toes because you only have roughly 45 seconds each before the ships sink. Once you’ve plundered that booty, fast travel back to Florida Island. The ships will regenerate, treasure and all, and you can continue rampaging them for all of eternity.

15 Have A Weird Chat With Ben Franklin

Via Veja Abril

One of the weirdest hidden interactions that you may ever come across in your entire gaming career may just so happen to have occured in the third installment of the Assassin’s Creed series. Haven’t you always wanted to chat up a founding father? Ask them what they would truly think of the state of the modern world and if they really cared so much about each and every single amendment? No? Okay, what about simply discussing the birds and the bees with Benjamin Franklin? In the third game in this series, you can do just that. In fact, Ben might even spout out some advice on the topic if prompted.

14 Let Those Lions Loose

Via Alienware Arena

Look, we all know that each and every enemy in any given Assassin’s Creed game has the capacity to be an absolute nightmare. I mean, that practically goes without saying. However, the Origins game provides players with the opportunity to use their enemies own captives against them. If you travel amongst the enemy camps in Origins you might have noticed that several of them have large lions kept inside cramped cages. These lions want out as soon as possible. In this game, when you unleash those lions they can turn on your enemies and knock out a few of them for you while you just stand and watch.

13 Find Those Feathers

Via Games Planet

Each and every game is known for something. The Assassin’s Creed games are known for their extensive, infuriating, yet rewarding collectible missions (amongst other things). And the second installment in the wildly popular series is no different. In this iteration of the game, players have the option of scouring each and every one of the games many worlds in order to uncover the location of several elusive feathers. These feathers are spread out evenly between Florence, Villa, Tuscany, Forli, and Venice and, if all are collected, the players hard work will be rewarded with a virtual gift.

12 The Curse Of The Black Pearl

Via YouTube

One of the most terrifying moments from the original film in the Pirates of the Caribbean series was when Elizabeth Swann found herself upon that ghost ship at night and saw the crew turn into eerie skeletal creatures in front of her very own eyes. Well, what is a pirate game without the ability to make your own skeleton crew? In Black Flag, players have the ability to complete Abstergo Challenges in order to unlock special features. If a player completes 100 of these challenges, they can unlock the ability to have a full skeleton crew man the Jackdaw.

11 Find The Boy Who Cried Wolf

Via GiantBomb

Like the song “Jingle Bell Rock,” everyone in the English speaking world know the children's bedtime story entitled “The Boy Who Cried Wolf.” Well, if you’re like me and found yourself nearly wetting the bed after hearing that monstrosity of a tale then maybe you might want to skip the third Assassin’s Creed game. One of the Frontiersmen club missions involves a brief cutscene in which the tale is told to the player. After the scene concludes, players will be able to explore the surrounding area and follow a path which will lead them to the remains of a young boy and an incredibly hungry wolf who can and will come after you.

10 Set The Waves Ablaze

Via Shacknews

Are you ready to challenge the virtual laws of nature? Have you always dreamed of setting things on fire that physically cannot be set on fire under normal circumstances? If that sounds like your kind of thing then I have just the game for you. In Origins, if you break open one of the many floating pots in Mareolis, you can start yourself a little campfire in the middle of the lake. Be warned that the liquid inside the pots is extremely flammable and will destroy everything in its path. Burn down a ship, burn your enemies, burn out some crocodiles, or even burn yourself alive while being fully submerged.

9 Track Down Those Blueprints

Via Gamesplanet

Blueprints. If you’ve played Rogue, you’re probably physically recoiling at the sight of that word. These games really do dedicate a lot of manpower into hiding those collectibles, don’t they? There are exactly nineteen blueprints hidden throughout the entire game and the players who uncover each and every one will be greatly rewarded. Though detailing the exact location of every single blueprint would turn this light read into an epic novel, I will say that the majority of the blueprints will be found in the North Atlantic with New York coming in second and the River Valley trailing behind in third.

8 Nerf The Braziers

Via YouTube

Braziers are beautiful but that have that annoying habit of letting every single one of your enemies know exactly where you are at the exact moment in which you desperately do not wish to be discovered. But what if I told you that there was a way to prevent this from happening? What if I told you that you could mess with these devices and render them respectively useless? If you reach a brazier before an enemy does, your character has the ability to “booby-trap” the brazier so that anyone that tries to use it will be quickly eliminated and won’t be able to warn anyone of your presence.

7 Get Infinite Ammunition

Via Digital Trends

The sci-fi aspect of the Assassin’s Creed series is one of the more widely debated aspects of the series. Opinions range from apathetic to absolutely enraged and everything in between. But if you want to unlock infinite ammunition while playing Revelations then you’re going to have to embrace the weird sync aspect of the series. If you want to unlock this coveted feature then you’re going to have to finish the game's seventh sequence with a sync score of 100% in the end. That means you cannot perish nor can you act without manners or regard for your fellow citizens.

6 Never Leave Your Steed

Via Digital Trends

Look, sometimes you have to take down someone who is on your tail but you just don’t have the time to turn your horse around and dismounting could put you in harms way. We’ve all been there. No? Just me? Well, if you find yourself playing Origins and need to fight an enemy who has been tailing you for miles without turning around, there is a way to do so. First, hold the block button. Next, you’re going to want to move the camera so that Bayek is now facing the potential victim. After that, all you need to do is shoot.
