Oftentimes there’s plenty that we overlook while playing a game. These are the small details that seem to come together nicely and bring the immersion in a game to a whole new level. Looking for hidden details is the best thing in a video game, whether it’s looking for Easter eggs or that new super weapon that’s going to absolutely destroy in PVP.

It’s one of those nice features hidden inside a game, and it's often the difference between a fantastic game that will last for hours and the dull game that takes about five minutes to find all of the collectibles. You might be adventuring into an unknown part of the wasteland and find yourself laughing out loud because you saw a skeleton sitting on a beach chair wearing sunglasses holding a long since cold drink.

The Fallout series is no different, hiding secrets within their games. Whether it’s a computer monitor with a funny bit of dialogue about coworkers hating each other or the sadder picture of walking into a room and seeing a simple skeleton holding a teddy bear near it, these are those hidden details that bring it life. Some of the more satisfying moments might involve finding a hidden weapon that is going to show that punk twelve-year-old who raided your base with his friends in Fallout 76. You’ll find yourself getting lost almost in this immensely rich world. Here’s a deeper look into those things tucked away in the dangerous wasteland of Fallout 76.

25 The Mothman

www.usgamer.net

The Mothman is a neat little encounter you can find out in the wasteland. It’s so famous, in fact, that there is an entire cult dedicated to the creature. This is one of the many cryptids that are in the game.

The Mothman can be found in the Point Pleasant area, and after collecting bioluminescence fluid from fireflies at the lighthouse, it will appear as a wise Mothman. If the player interacts with the beast, it will reward them with a five percent experience boost.

24 Honey Beast

www.usgamer.net

The creature that is made out of pure nightmares can be found in Fallout's Appalachia. Why would you ever want to find the Honey Beast is beyond me, though. It’s a giant mutated honeybee, with honey oozing out of its body.

There are different variants of the Honey Beast: the regular Honey Beast, Scorched Honey Beast, and the Glowing Honey Beast. Fight it if you must, but don’t scream too much when this thing sneaks up on you at night.

23 Treasure Maps

via: youtube.com

A new addition to the Fallout series is treasure maps. These can be found all throughout the game. There have been a total of around eleven treasure maps found so far in-game, with more maps for different locations still being discovered.

These maps consist of a crude drawing of a location and a vague area where to start looking for the landmark. If you have bad luck and can’t seem to find any maps, be sure to look in dungeons.

22 Brotherhood Of Steel

flipboard.com

Hardcore fans of the series will be happy to see the Brotherhood of Steel make an appearance, even if in the game's canonical lore they haven’t been founded yet. Fallout 76 takes place in 2102, while the B.O.S. wasn’t founded until 2150.

With that being said, you can still join them as a faction. To do so, head to Abbie’s bunker in the north side of the Mire. Getting there you should be about level 20, but once inside the bunker you will be on your way to joining the B.O.S.

21 Snallygaster

www.usgamer.net

A Snallygaster is a spooky beast with two legs and a creepy face. It has a tentacle-like tongue that attacks anyone who thinks fighting an abomination is a good idea. The Snallygaster is another cryptid that can be found in-game and is the result of a failed forced evolution experiment.

They can be found in highly irradiated areas in small packs. And really, the only thing worse than one of these creatures is a small pack of them.

20 Alien Blaster

via: attackofthefanboy.com

This is a rare weapon that can be found to the west of Philippi Battlefield Cemetery and southeast of the Black Mountain Ordnance Works. A highly powerful weapon from aliens, this is a must-get weapon if you can brave the wasteland to try and find it.

The downside of the alien blaster is that ammo for it can be hard to find, but there are blueprints to convert it to use fusion cells instead. Once you do that, there's no going back, though.

19 The Perfect Storm

This 10mm submachine gun is a reward for completing the Cold Case quest, and it’s worth the effort. It fires incendiary rounds, which deal an extra 24 burning damage over three seconds. This is one of the legendary weapons that can be earned in the wasteland.

Solving the case of the missing boy can be somewhat tedious, but the end reward is well worth the effort. To start the cold case quest you have to find Miss Annie; she’s at Wavy Willard’s Water Park.

18 Factions

www.pcgamesn.com

There are a total of eight different factions that are available to join in Fallout 76: the Brotherhood of Steel, Charleston Emergency Government, Cult of the Mothman, the Enclave, Free States, Order of Mysteries, Raiders, and the Responders.

Sadly, there are no human survivors left in these factions because of the scorch plague; only the robot members and the robot vendors survived. There are still plenty of quests to be given out and faction oriented loot to be earned, though, so don’t worry.

17 The Dragon

itndaily.ru

This is an extremely hard-hitting, four-barreled black powered rifle that deals 200 damage per barrel. Making a staggering total of 800 damage if all four shots connect, making it another amazing legendary weapon in Fallout 76.

This rifle can either be found as a random drop at Moundsville Penetarity and The Ash Heap or by buying it from Grahm. Considering the amount of damage this rifle can deal, it’s worth picking up if you do find it. It's good to have on your side.

16 Flatwoods Monster

www.vg247.com

These strange extraterrestrial beings can be found in, you guessed it, Flatwoods. It can also appear alongside the Mothman. The Flatwoods monster is interesting because it will teleport around while fighting, as well as simply disappear in a bright white light.

The Flatwoods Monster is one of many cryptids found within the game. When ended, they will drop many valuable resources. They were first spotted in 1952 in West Virginia by three boys who were investigating a strange light in the sky.

15 Project Greek Island

via: help.bethesda.net

This is a secret project started by U.S. leader Dwight E. Eisenhower in 1958. In the event of a nuclear attack, a bunker in West Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains would house all of Congress so they may continue to act. This bunker can be found in the Whitesprings resort in Fallout 76 (instead of the original name of the hotel, the Greenbrier). While the bunker thankfully never saw any actual use in real life, it would seem that in-game, it actually did see use.

14 Making Fun Of The Fallout Lore

www.youtube.com

When the game first launched, many fans of the Fallout series were quite upset about the inconsistencies that were found in the game. This goes from how the Brotherhood of Steel is in the game, even though it was founded 50 years after the game takes place, to how super mutants are around even though they were not created until much later.

There is an in-game easter egg, however, poking fun at the game's own inconsistencies. A letter can be found written by Kent Connolly from Fallout 4, complaining about the lack of consistency in the Silver Shroud radio show.

13 The Shining Easter Eggs

via: rockpapershotgun.com

Head over to the Overlook Cabin and go down the street to the Torrance House. Inside you will find some interesting things. There is a red tricycle on the balcony, much like Danny rides in the movie. Along with children's letter blocks spelling out the infamous saying, Redrum.

There's also a hedge maze, which is a call to the movie as well. You can find a skeleton with a fire ax, much like the ax that Jack carries at the end of the film while in the maze.

12 Dark Brotherhood Easter Egg

via: youtube.com

The Dark Brotherhood is an assassin faction that is joinable in the Elder Scrolls series. Many of its infamous handprints can be found throughout the entire wasteland, making it unclear if it’s a reference to the faction or just a handprint.

There is one however located in an electrical plant, there can be found a handprint with those children’s letter blocks spelling out “we know.” Making it a clear sign that someone needed someone else out of the picture.

11 The Office Easter Egg

via: youtube.com

Within Camden Park, found in Fallout 76, there can be a reference found to the popular TV show that aired from 2005 to 2013. Head into the park and find a terminal and read about Marty Porkins.

Marty wants to be called the assistant park manager, but is instead the assistant to the park manager. This is a reference to how Dwight Schrute insists he is the assistant regional manager, but the actual title is an assistant to the regional manager.

10 Nuka Tapper Easter Egg

via: appaddict.net

An Easter egg to the 1983 arcade game, Nuka Tapper can easily found within the first few minutes of the game. Right after watching the opening cutscene and creating your character, use the computer that is in your room. There will be three options. Choose the third option and you will have a holotape of the game Nuka Tapper.

It’s pretty much an exact copy of the original arcade game, full of picking up tips and making sure glasses don’t drop on the floor.

9 It Easter Egg

via: twitter.com

Within Whitespring’s golf club building, you might see something a little out of the ordinary. Defeat all the enemies around and head inside to the kitchen. Inside the fridge, there is a red balloon and a clown doll. The clown lures the young boy Georgie into the sewers with a red balloon in the movie It.

Not the most thrilling easter egg, but I’d much rather have a small clown than, say, a ghoul come out of nowhere and do the creepy leg dance like in the movie.

8 Breaking Bad Easter Egg

via: reddit.com

Deep within Harper's Ferry, there is an Easter egg to one of the best TV shows ever made. If you stumble upon a skeleton wearing a lab coat with a gas mask, you’re in the right spot. You can see a trunk emptying barrels full of pre-war money into a pit. This is a reference to the scene where Walt has to hide his dirty money, so he decides to bury it all in the ground.

7 Pyrolyzer

via: gameplay.tips

The Pyrolyzer is a legendary flamethrower. What more needs to be said about it? The main perk that this weapon has is it reduces your target damage output by twenty percent for three seconds, meaning the target is debuffed until you’re not hitting them.

Head over to Harper's Ferry and you'll receive a quest to investigate the area. Once you start this lengthy quest, completing it will reward you with the Pyrolyzer. The only downside to this weapon is that it does require a lot of ammo and it uses a lot of it as well.

6 Enclave Faction

via: reddit.com

The Enclave make a return appearance in Fallout 76, and joining them has some serious rewards readily available to give you. To join the Enclave, here’s what you've got to do. Head to the Waste Dump in the easternmost river, and you will receive the quest to join the Enclave.

The Enclave is one of eight joinable factions within the game. They each have their own powerful faction-based rewards for joining. To find out what they are, you'll have to join them!
