High on Life developer Squanch Games has announced that the title is still coming in 2022, but has been delayed for an additional six weeks in order to polish it up and squash bugs.Announced via a statement posted to the game's official Twitter account, High on Life will now launch on December 13 later this year. Squanch Games states that it is "working hard" on the game, but explains that it still need a "little extra time" to get rid of any bugs."High on Life is still coming in 2022!" reads the statement. " The team at Squanch Games is working hard towards developing the best gaming experience to hit your screens, and a little extra time to squash some bugs never hurts. With that in mind, our new launch date is set to December 13, 2022."
If you'll recall, High on Life was originally announced during Geoff Keighley's Summer Games Fest showcase with a release window of October 2022. The game is being developed by Squanch Games - founded by Rick & Morty co-creator Justin Roiland - which is reponsible for VR titles such as Accountant and Trover Saves the Universe.
High on Life is a first-person shooter with a rather strange twist. Instead of regular, boring weapons, the game's varied arsenal of gadgets all have faces that talk to you, each one with unique personalities. Humanity is at the brink of collapse due to an alien species that wants to turn people into drugs, and it's your job to make sure that doesn't happen. High on Life will now launch on December 13, for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. As an added bonus, the game will also be available on both Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming on the day of release.
