The Sims franchise is among the most popular and long-standing game series out there, and rightfully so. The amount of customization and all the stories you can tell with your sims ensure you'll be engaged in the game for hours.

Having become a cultural icon, it's no wonder Simmers have created a vibrant and active community of players, with a great sense of humor. From funny glitches or incredible builds to custom content and memes, there's a lot to explore. Today, we're sharing with you nine hilarious memes inspired by The Sims that you'll no doubt relate to, in both good and bad ways.

9 It's Hard Being A Parent

There's a lot of weird stuff that goes on in our games, especially after a big patch day or when we've completely bloated our computers with custom content and script mods. From sims being able to walk through walls to your mother sim pushing a stroller into the sea, some of these things are simply impossible to explain.

Thankfully, that baby seems safe enough, but it's probably best not to trust that woman with parenting or babysitting the next time a child needs supervision. Leave it to professionals.

8 Alpha CC Simmers Will Relate

Whether you're a sword Maxis Match Simmer or an Alpha CC fan, you've probably run into alpha content at some point. Incredibly realistic, it can sometimes look a bit out of place and eerie within the game. It gets even worse when random townies are suddenly appearing with their eyebrows on fleek and full-on contouring.

You know you've overdone it with all the CAS custom content when babies suddenly have hyper-realistic eyes and lip liner. Probably high time to go through that Mods folder, right? You'd be surprised just how better your game runs after a cleanup.

7 It's Not What You Think, Mom!

A ton of people have been revisiting The Sims 2 years after its release and seemed to have forgotten about a tacky yet amusing detail in the game. Whenever your character does something significant for the first time, a cutscene will ensue.

Who remembers that steamy cutscene right before your sims are about to WooHoo? As kids, we all were praying our parents wouldn't walk in at that exact moment and wrongly think we're doing something we shouldn't be.

6 Mind If I Use Your PC And Break It?

In The Sims 4, it's not uncommon for your sim's friends to just show up at their doorstep or constantly beg on the phone to come over. Consequently, it's also not uncommon for them to immediately walk over to your computer and play Blicblock on it after walking through your front door.

Man, sims seem to have no manners or any awareness of how inconsiderate they are! Thankfully Discover University now lets us lock computers from other sims. No more having to repair your expensive PC because someone in the welcome wagon wanted to play Blicblock!

5 Living Your Best Life, In The Sims

Ultimately there are only two types of Sims players out there: those who use the money cheat, and those who don't. If you do, we're totally not judging you. Who wouldn't want to give their sims a life of their dreams with infinite wealth and possibilities?

Sometimes, however, we go a bit overboard with the money cheats. It takes away from the challenge of the game and overall just makes things too easy. But, then again, if real life isn't easy, why should The Sims be the same way? We all need a break.

4 Uhh, Hello?

It's been around since the conception of The Sims: the welcome wagon. When you first move into the neighborhood, a bunch of sims will flock to your house, carrying disgusting fruit cake. It's a nice gesture, but pretty unrealistic.

Most players these days tend to just ignore the welcome wagon, without even closing the actual event off. This just leaves our neighbors awkwardly standing outside the house, not sure what to do with themselves.

3 Only True Simmers Will Understand

The concept of tropical islands has been explored in the game for a while now. Just last summer, we got Island Living, a beautiful expansion that was perfect for those hot summer days and vacation time. In The Sims 3, we had Island Paradise, where we could even dive deep in the seas and look for treasure.

That being said, there's no game quite like The Sims 2 Castaway. Not only does this game have a story, but it also has that quintessential The Sims 2 type of quirkiness that we all grew up loving. That's the only real Island Living pack we accept around here!

2 Standing In Front Of Fire Mode Activated

Fire is a pretty common theme in all of The Sims games. If you still haven't seen your sim die in the flames either on purpose or by accident, you really haven't experienced the game to its fullest potential. We're not encouraging you to be evil, but we're just saying: give it a shot next time you get bored.

However, when this happens to a household you like, it's full panic mode immediately. Your Sim just doesn't want to get away from the fire. In fact, they seem attracted to it and absolutely must go and react to it. This is where real frustration kicks in hard.

1 Fitness Above All

Our sims can be surprisingly unaffected by what goes on around them. Weird events might occur right before their eyes, yet they seem to have no idea about what's going on. Maybe that's their secret: the ultimate coping mechanism against all the horrible things we put them through.

Sometimes even death can leave a Sim completely unaffected if they're happy or energized enough. Yes, the Grim Reaper might be here to collect their child, but they're a bit busy leveling up that fitness skill. Surely that's a good enough reason, right?
