Google isn't the only company getting in on the video-game streaming action. On the contrary, Nintendo has its very own dubbed Switch Cloud Gaming which lets you run titles in HD granted your internet speed is good enough. IO Interactive has just revealed that they will be taking advantage of this by launching Hitman 3 with it.
It comes out January 20 alongside PlayStation 5, all of the Xbox platforms, Stadia, and PC. If you want to try it out on your Switch, Nintendo offers a limited trial to test the game out, so if your connection isn't good enough, no money wasted.
Beyond that, there are no details on Hitman 3's cloud port, but if Control is anything to go by, then it could be that it's double the price and only available for 180 days. This was dubbed an 'Access Pass' and it cost $39.99 or £34.99. Unlike Xbox's Game Pass, Google Stadia, or PlayStation Now, this isn't a service that you subscribe to for access to a library. It's done on a more individual basis.
If Hitman 3 is double the price to stream on the Switch - for a limited time no less - that might be quite the kick to the stomach for players. It isn't confirmed yet and IO and Nintendo may very well take a different route this time. That being said, there are only 5 days to go, so IO had best release some further info soon.
The difference between a cloud and normal Nintendo Switch port is that the game will be able to run as it does on high-end PCs and next-gen consoles with all the enabled graphical features - even ray tracing.
At any rate, all of Hitman 3's locations have now been revealed, so know that if you are stepping into the shoes of Agent 47 to sneak around, murdering people with briefcases, then you'll be able to do so in Berlin, Mendoza, the Carpathian Mountains, Dubai, Dartmoor, and Chongqing. It's one way to travel the world while in lockdown, even if it is a little bloody.
