The best way to get in the mood for another entry in a series is to carry a sense of humor about it. Hitman might not be the game that comes to mind when thinking of comedy, but the fanbase certainly likes a laugh about the tropes involved here.

With Hitman 3 up for release, it’s worth taking a look back at the memes created by fans as a way to celebrate the title’s debut. Agent 47’s stoic mannerisms, and the premise of the games themselves, have been turned into hilarious pictures that are sure to amuse fans as they prepare to begin their playthrough of Hitman 3.

10 Somebody Missed A Spot

One would imagine the complaints from players would be about the weapons found in the games, but this is a mistake that seems to irk the creator of this meme. When the game showed all the crimes happening around the world, the crime of being guilty of oversight was found.

It appears as if one of the developers, named Allan, didn’t get the memo of adding further details in this intel screen. In the end, “Allan Please Add Details” has ended up being part of the screen itself, which will be interesting to see how Agent 47 handles it. Maybe Allan’s going to be his next target.

9 There's Always That One Person

When taking a retrospective look at the games, the majority of the best levels are the ones in the original series or the “World of Assassination” ones. Hitman: Absolution tends to get left out entirely, although there are valid reasons for that.

The game tried too hard to go for that gritty feel, coming at the expense of Agent 47’s identity as an incognito assassin. Even a decade after that title’s release, fans aren’t ready to forgive it for its flaws and continue to single it out as the oddball of the franchise.

8 That Doesn't Seem Suspicious At All

The Mumbai mission in Hitman 2 had the option of assassinating the Maelstrom by posing as a barber. This didn’t count the logic of making every other customer waiting, seeing as 47 finished off his target and just went his merry way even though he should have easily been caught by onlookers.

That’s why the wish lists for Hitman 3 have fans hoping for more realism in carrying out assassinations since it takes away from the value of executing a successful hit if it looks so fake. This meme pretty much sums up how the onlookers had reacted in Hitman 2.

7 Whatever Works

The most frequent question asked about Agent 47 is the meaning of the bar code behind his neck. It seems as if 47 himself doesn’t think that’s an odd thing considering how he doesn’t think to conceal the one thing that easily distinguishes him from the rest.

According to his logic, it’s his face that he needs to hide when looking to blend in. Not to mention the fact that by lowering his hat he’s actually showing off the bar code even further.

6 Dear Lord No

The minions are part of the Despicable Me franchise where these creatures pose as anything from popular culture to make things cute. The Hitman series doesn’t appear to be an exception, with one of the yellow creatures posing as Agent 47.

As cute as that may be, the person who created this meme has a valid point, in that blending the minions with Hitman 3 is very much the wrong decision. Knowing how marketing goes these days, there’s still a chance we might just see a Hitman and Minions crossover.

5 It's Curtains For Somebody

Those who have followed the series for a while tend to see things associated with the games whenever something pops up. These gamers won’t take more than two seconds before becoming very aware of the person in this meme.

After all, he looks like the live-action version of Agent 47 himself, right down to the dressing sense and the color of his tie. With the Hitman games now featuring levels in all kinds of areas, it’s not too farfetched to believe that 47 might be hunting a target on the tube.

4 Isn't That The Nicest Hitman Ever?

The most iconic picture of Agent 47 remains the cover of Hitman: Blood Money, where he’s seen holding his trademark fiber wire. Those who want to see the good in 47 have put a nice spin on this picture, arguing that he’s promoting good oral health.

These people would want to avoid the quotes 47 has uttered, seeing as these sayings are mainly geared towards taking lives rather than asking people to floss. Then again, maybe 47 does like good oral hygiene. Being a hitman doesn’t mean one shouldn’t take care of their gums.

3 It's Not All Bad News

It’s a shame how underrated the Hitman franchise tends to be, which is mainly because of the presence of the Metal Gear and Splinter Cell series. The Hitman games actually provide a good balance between being too long and too short in the stealth genre, allowing them to be more enjoyable.

What’s more impressive is how the other two franchises have more or less lost their steam in the last decade or so while the Hitman series keeps rolling quality titles out. For those that think the stealth genre is dying, they need to heed Yoda’s words.

2 This Makes 47 Happy

The success of Knives Out has injected new life in the whodunit genre, to the point where it’s seeing a resurgence in the gaming landscape as well. Hitman 3 isn’t going to pass up on this opportunity, with a mission supposedly devoted entirely to this premise.

There’s nothing that’s ever made Agent 47 smile, so this would be a first if it does happen in canon. While that’s about as likely as 47 falling in love, it would be pretty funny to see 47 look happy at the prospect of simultaneously solving a crime while attempting to assassinate someone himself.

1 The Target's Got To Look Photogenic

By this point, there are so many weird things about the series that these are attributed to the funny logic behind them. One of these is how the ICA always gives Agent 47 such well-posed pictures of the targets, with the people in them looking directly into the camera.

It’s as if the ICA goes through the targets’ Instagram pages in order to find the best picture to present to 47. There’s no explanation over how the agency could get such close-ups considering they need 47 to reach the target’s proximity in the first place.
