Hitman 3 has wrapped up the story of Agent 47, and IO Interactive is officially moving ahead with its mysterious 007 game. While much of the project is shrouded in mystery, Hitman 3's executive producer Forest Swartout Large "hopes that the Bond team will be inspired" by everything her team has accomplished with their latest title.

In a recent interview with Large, we asked about the possibility of the upcoming Bond game sharing some DNA with the Hitman trilogy. While Large couldn't get into detail about anything, she did mention she hopes the team is "inspired" by the work done on Hitman 3.

"I hope that the Bond team will be inspired," she said. "There are things that IO does incredibly well, and it would be a huge missed opportunity if the Bond team didn’t leverage all of that expertise, take it, and then make their own with it. What I can see from the side, I believe that they will do that. I would say there’s something about the DNA of IO when it comes to creativity and stealth - especially disguise stealth."

Unlike Agent 47, Bond isn't exactly known for his deep closet of disguises. Still, donning a strange costume isn't out of his wheelhouse, and IO Interactive certainly knows a thing or two about "disguise stealth." It's unclear whether this will play a big role in the upcoming game, but if it does, it's almost guaranteed Large and her team will be involved in its implementation.

Seeing Hitman 3 pulling in incredible numbers should also be inspiring to the 007 team, as the conclusion to the Hitman trilogy had already made a profit after just one week on the market.

So much about IO Interactive's upcoming Bond game remains unknown, but one thing is clear – if anyone can put together a compelling stealth-action-puzzle game suitable for 007 himself, it's IO Interactive.

The untitled Bond game is yet to receive a release date, although it will tell the origin story of the "world's favorite Secret Agent" as they earn their 00 status.
