There’s a new sport-based anime coming soon to join the ranks of Free!, Haikyuu!!, and Kuroko no Basket. It’s called PuraOre! Pride of Orange, and it’s coming to Crunchyroll very soon.

PuraOre tells the story of junior high schoolers Manaka and her younger sister Ayaka as they first fall in love with hockey and eventually make their way onto the local junior team. After Manaka forces sister Ayaka to come try out for the Nikko Dream Monkeys, the two are soon joined by childhood friends Kaoruko and Mami for training, exhibition games, and eventually their first ice hockey tournament.

The Japanese voice cast includes Rie Masuda as Manaka, Sagara Mayu as Ayaka, Yukari Moriyama as Kauruko, and Yoshino Aoyama as Mami. A mobile game is expected to release alongside the anime, although few details are available other than a 2021 release window.

In case you missed the news, Crunchyroll is now owned by Sony after the entertainment mega-corporation purchased the anime streaming service for $1 billion last month. Crunchyroll seems to be operating the same as it always has since the purchase, but there are rumors that Sony plans to offer a higher tier of PlayStation Plus that includes anime streaming as part of the subscription fee.
