Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action RPG developed by Avalanche Studios and PortKey Games. The game takes place at Hogwarts in the 1800s, and the player takes on the role of a Hogwarts student. The game explores the secrets of Hogwarts Castle. The game did show environments to explore outside the castle, including Azkaban and Hogsmeade. Players get to experience the life of a Hogwarts student by learning new spells, choosing their house, and making new friends. The trailer also shows the player fighting a troll and dragon, among other fantastical creatures. The game will release sometime in 2021 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
The game seems to hint that players' choices will impact the story. "Hogwarts Legacy is filled with immersive magic, putting players at the center of their adventure to become the witch or wizard they choose to be," said in a press release by Warner Bros.
