Do you like trophies and achievements? Then, you'll love Merits! Just like Animal Crossing has Nook Miles, for example, Hokko Life has Merits. You can earn them by progressing through various types of daily tasks and chores - you can think of it as a reward for running some errands around town.

In this guide, we'll tell you more about this rewards system, which has become very popular in many recent games. It's a way to incentivize players to do certain tasks, and people love getting gifts for tasks that they'd do either way.

How Merits Work

pip making a request in-game

When accessing your inventory, you can go to the Mayor Merits tab next to the crafting menu. Here is where you can check out all of the available Merits in-game and work towards them.

It's crucial to complete Merits and collect badges since it unlocks more features in the game such as photo mode. By doing so, you'll improve your efficiency in many skills, you'll learn more crafting recipes, and gain access to mechanics that you'd never expect - no spoilers here!

Each Merit thread has levels. Although you'll automatically progress through them as you play, you can only receive a level's reward if you've already completed its respective level.

Available Merits Tasks

There are five categories and each category has different Merits tasks that you can complete. Each symbol represents an objective; there's a legend on the right-hand corner of the screen that will let you know what your objectives are for a certain category. Here are all of the categories and their respective tasks:
