Hollow Knight is about to make his way to the world of Dead Cells, or at least his weapon will. Developer Motion Twin announced that Hollow Knight will be the last “guest” coming to their roguelite title as part of the “Everyone is Here” update. While the Knight himself will not be in the game, his iconic weapon will and it is available through a free update right now.

Motion Twin took to Twitter to share the good news, stating that fans had “nailed it” and Hollow Knight would indeed be the next crossover. However, the tweet went on to say that “The Knight is a bit too shy to show his face. However, he was still nice enough to let us use his weapon! And how cool is it to pogo on enemies?” The developer then shared a short clip showing off Dead Cells’ possessed corpse protagonist taking out enemies with the Knight’s sword.

Dead Cells is a roguelite game that took the indie scene by storm back in 2017 when it launched for PC. The game, which sees players assuming the role of a corpse reanimated by cells, blends elements of roguelite and Metroidvania games to create a fun, but notably difficult, experience. Though a few years old, constant updates and ports to consoles have kept the indie title relevant and a bestseller.

Meanwhile. Hollow Knight is another popular indie that has made quite an impact since it was successfully funded through Kickstarter. A 2D Metroidvania, the game follows an insect-knight as he attempts to rid his kingdom of a strange infestation. Though the game received its last update back in 2018, several expansions and DLC add a ton of content and plenty of adventure to have as everyone’s favorite sword-wielding knight.

The “Everyone is Here” update will bring several weapons and abilities from iconic indie titles to Dead Cells. Previously announced games adding a little something include Blasphemous, Skul: The Hero Slayer, Guacamelee, Hyper Light Drifter, and Curse of the Dead Gods. These games will add abilities to Dead Cells such as turning into a chicken and using a pistol to blast away enemies. "Everyone is Here" is a free update that is available now.
