Bad news for Hollow Knight fans. Hollow Knight: Silksong will not be at E3 and neither will there be any new info during the E3 period. This comes directly from developer Team Cherry, who posted to the game's Discord channel earlier today.

"Hey guys," Team Cherry wrote. "I just wanted to pop in to let you know that Team Chery does not have any announcements/blogs scheduled for E3 this year."

We still don't have a release date or even a vague release window for Hollow Knight: Silksong, but we do have a bunch of details on the upcoming sequel thanks to a feature piece in Edge 354 magazine earlier this year.

Originally intended as DLC, Silksong eventually expanded into a full-on sequel. Hornet is taller, faster, and jumpier than the original Knight, and can even mantle onto ledges. The world of Pharloom is larger than the original game's and more vertically oriented to account for Hornet's enhanced mobility.

Also, original Kickstarter backers will get the sequel for free.

This year's all-digital E3 will see the return of most of gaming's biggest names, excluding Sony and Konami. Sega was originally going to skip E3 but recently changed its mind. We might even get a Sonic 3 & Knuckles rerelease announcement.
