Hollow Knight: Silksong has been confirmed to release in the next 12 months.

One of the best surprises at the Xbox and Bethesda showcase was a brief look at Hollow Knight: Silksong, which was revealed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one. Although the trailer itself didn't give a release window for Silksong, the showcase itself has told us the maximum amount of time we'll be waiting until we can play the game ourselves.

Right at the start of the showcase, it was revealed that everything that was about to be shown will be playable within the next 12 months. That means that everything from Redfall to Wo Long is planned to launch by June 2023. Most interestingly of all, that also means that even if Hollow Knight: Silksong wasn't given a release window of any kind by its own trailer, the Xbox showcase basically confirmed we only have a maximum of 12 months to wait until it releases.

The official Xbox Twitter account even acknowledged this when it Tweeted out, "Everything you’re seeing today is playable over the next 12 months". One Twitter user replied to that Tweet with "So you’re telling me Silksong is out within the next 12 months", to which Xbox said, "That's exactly what we said".

Interestingly, Hollow Knight: Silksong doesn't appear on the final "playable in 12 months" release slate that Xbox shared at the end of the showcase. One Twitter user pointed this out and became concerned that Silksong somehow wasn't part of that promise, but thankfully it does appear in a montage video that Xbox released highlighting all of the games coming in the next year.

Although the lack of a release window in the trailer and it being missing from the release slate image might be concerning, the fact that it appeared in the montage video and that Xbox itself has directly confirmed that it's coming in the next 12 months means that Hollow Knight fans can finally relax a little.
