Honkai Impact 3rd is a free-to-play action RPG from Hoyoverse, the makers of Genshin Impact. However, Honkai is far more unique in comparison, notably for incorporating elements of a large range of different genres. Bullet Hell, platforming, hack 'n' slash, dungeon crawling, and shoot 'em up mechanics are combined with gacha mechanics in an intriguing blend.

20 Aponia

Battlesuits: Disciplinary Perdition

Aponia is a flame-chaser of the previous era, being part of the Anti-Honkai organization Fire Moth. She ranks third among the thirteen members and uses the codename discipline. You'll find her to be very soft-spoken and calm, often using her psychic MANTIS to manipulate others in the ways she thinks is best.

19 Bronya Zaychik

Battlesuits: Chariot, Snowy Sniper, Yamabuki Armor, Dimension Breaker, Dawn of Silver Wolf, Black Nucleus, Herrscher of Reason.

Russian orphan Bronya was raised as an assassin in the aftermath of the second Houkai War. After she failed a mission to assassinate Cocolia, who refused to kill children, she was taken to an orphanage where she was experimented on. This was the X-10 Experiment, intended to develop humanoid combat weapons to fight the Houkai.

18 Carole Pepper

Battlesuit: Sweet 'n' Spicy

Carole first appeared in a Post-Honkai Odyssey where she is a Valkyrie in the Schicksal 3rd Squad. She's energetic, cheerful, and kind, albeit also very self-conscious. She's also the daughter of Lewis, an ex-Valkyrie and member of The Ground Forces during the Second Eruption.

17 Durandal - Aka Bianca Ataegina

Battlesuits: Valkyrja Gloria, Bright Knight - Excelsis, Dea Anchora, Platinus Equinox

Durandal is said to be the most powerful S-Rank Valkyrie, Heir of the Abyss Flower, and Captain of the Immortal Blades. She has a natural resistance to Honkai energy which saved her life when she was young. She relies on hard work and determination to hone her skills

16 Eden

Battlesuit: Golden Diva

Eden is a flame-chaser, ranked fourth and considered the "brightest star" of the previous era. She is a calm woman who is softly spoken and kind to all. She's also rich due to being the owner of the Elysian Realm when it was known as the Golden Courtyard Eden is generous with her wealth and a fan of wine.

15 Elysia

Battlesuit: Miss Pink Elf

Elysia is co-lead of the Flame Chasers, ranked second overall. She's very cheerful and optimistic, often praising others and enjoying life. She's friendly and warm, yet maintains a distance in order to keep some secrets for herself. She's been labeled a traitor, but only by Mobius.

14 Fu Hua

Battlesuits: Valkyrie Accipiter, Hawk of the Fog, Phoenix, Night Squire, Shadow Knight, Azure Empyrea, Herrscher of Sentience.

Fu Hua, codenamed Vicissitude, is the Celestial and Class President at St. Freya Academy. She is ranked twelfth in the Flame-Chasers, but it didn't stop her from becoming head of project EMBER. She's stoic and aloof, often being described as cold. She's also incredibly obedient and loyal. She's lonely due to her immortality, which has led to her freezing people out and refusing to form attachments.

13 Kallan Kaslana

Battlesuits: Imayoh Ritual, Sundenjager, Sixth Serenade.

After the death of her father at the hands of Honkai Beasts, Kallan rose through the ranks to become Captain of the Schicksal Valkyries at just 16. She has a strong sense of duty, a family trait, and was determined to "save the world" ever since she was young. In the current timeline, she is dead, having sacrificed herself at age 24 to save a child.

12 Kiana Kaslana

Battlesuits: White Comet, Valkyrie Ranger, Divine Prayer, KNight Moonbeam, Herrscher of the Void, Herrscher of the Flamescion.

Kiana is a clone and the adopted daughter of Siegfried Kaslana. Her primary role is to serve as a vessel for the second Herrscher, Herrscher of the void, and later for Herrscher of the Flamescion. She's overconfident, loud and brash, often smiling, and always happy-go-lucky. However, some events in her life drive her to despair.

11 Liliya Olenyeva

Battlesuit: Blueberry Blitz

Liliya is the twin of Rozaliya, with her recognizable feature being her cyan hair. She is calm and usually level-headed, remaining focused and correcting her sister when she's wrong. Although she is the youngest she appears to be the more serious of the pair and would do anything to protect her twin.

10 Mobius

Battlesuits: Infinite Ouroboros

Mobius is a scientist of the previous era and a MANTIS, responsible for the creation of the stigmata among others. She's also a tenth-ranked Flame-Chaser who uses Infinity as a code name. Beware, as she has an unsettling air, due to her snake-like eyes combined with a doll-like appearance.

9 Murata Himeko

Battlesuits: Battle Storm, Scarlet Fusion, Valkyrie Triumph, Arctic Kreigsmesser, Blood Rose, Vermilion Knight: Eclipse

Murata Himeko is a strong, hardworking, and reliable squad leader for Kiana Kaslana, Raiden Mei, and Bronya Zaychik. She's also a teacher at St. Freya Academy. She cares deeply for her squad and protects them well, being brave and relentless in battle, despite having a reckless side.

8 Natasha Cioara

Battlesuit: Midnight Absinthe

Better known as Raven, Natasha Cioara is a trained mercenary and member of World Serpent. She's incredibly cynical and can come off as cold. However, she softens over time showing a caring side no one expected. She initially appeared as the main antagonist and later became a playable Valkyrie after forming a truce with Raiden Mei.

7 Pardofelis

Battlesuit: Reverist Calico

Pardofelis is a light-fingered meta-morph with cat ears and a tail. She has a love of shiny things and is used to stealing and scavenging, a hangover from her time on the streets. Pardofelis is now a merchant in the Elysian Realm and ranked thirteenth in the Flame-Chasers.

6 Raiden Mei

Battlesuits: Crimson Impulse, Valkyrie Bladestrike, Striker Fulminata, Shadow Dash, Danzai Spectramancer, Lightning Empress, Herrscher of Thunder, APHO

Raiden Mei is one of the three main protagonists and is the 3rd Herrscher. She grew up feeling isolated and alone, which led to her being very guarded and her Herrscher personality in particular was very malicious and cold. Over time she began to soften, learn to become closer to people, and developed a fondness for cooking.

5 Rita Rossweisse

Battlesuits: Umbral RTose, Stalker: Phantom Iron, Argent Agent: Artemis, Fallen Rosemary, Spina Astera

Rita Rossweisse is a lieutenant of the Immortal Blades. They are the most powerful squad of Schicksal and Rita herself is an S-Rank Valkyrie. She's also a maid which often makes people overlook her strength. She's an incredibly intelligent young woman as well, speaking over a dozen languages.

4 Rozaliya Olenyeva

Battlesuit: Molotov Cherry

Rozaliya is energetic and outgoing. She's also prone to exaggeration which is usually calmed corrected by her younger sister. She considers it her duty to protect her younger sister Liliya, but her personality can be a hindrance. This is because her caring nature can be overwhelmed by her scattiness, leading to her panicking in the face of danger. However, she has proven herself when situations get really serious.

3 Seelie Volleri / Veliona

Battlesuits Seelie Veliona: Seelie, Starchasm Nyx

Seelie Volleri is a gentle, timid, and caring girl with a dislike of bugs. She becomes increasingly insecure, awakening her Stigma's personality, Velonia, whose red eyes betray her difference from Volleri. She is also ruthless, violent, and often feels threatened. Over time the personalities become dual egos at the request of Seele.

2 Theresa Apocalypse

Battlesuits: Valkyrie Pledge, Sakuno Rondo, Violet Executer, Twilight Paladin, Celestial Hymn, Luna Kindred, Starlit Astrologos

Theresa Apocalypse is a former Squad V Member and Schicksal Valkyrie who is now the principal of St. Freya. She was artificially created from Vishnu and Kallen Kaslana's genes. She takes after Kallen, and while she is thousands of years old the botched cloning has left her permanently looking like a 12-year-old girl.
