If you were lucky enough to roll Welt in your initial 50 Warps (with a guaranteed 5-star character), you've managed to roll one of the best early-game carries in Honkai: Star Rail, who can also scale with the right Light Cones and build to become a very powerful character later on.

Seele is the first limited character in Honkai: Star Rail, and here's everything you need to know if you want to build her.

Welt follows the Nihility path and deals Imaginary damage - the aim of Welt's playstyle is to stack loads of debuffs, imprison enemies, make them skip their turn, and deal crushing damage with his Ultimate - Synthetic Black Hole. Here's how to build this character with a close look at Light Cones, Relics, and more.

Updated on October 13, 2023, by Sanyam Jain: With time, Honkai: Star Rail has released quite a few new Relic and Planar Ornament sets, and some of them can synergize with Welt's kit quite nicely.

Best Relics And Planar Ornaments For Welt

Welt Honkai

Relics and Planar Ornaments are unlocked by leveling up your Trailblazer level and completing missions. Relics are items found while you play or by farming Caverns of Corrosion. Alternatively, Planar Ornaments are farmed via the Simulated Universe.

For Welt, the best Relic sets and Planar Ornaments in the game are:

Type

Name

Reason For Synergy

Relics

Wastelander Of Banditry Desert

This set increases Welt's Imaginary damage by 10% - a stellar boost - but also improves his crit rate against debuffed enemies. As Welt causes massive Slow debuffs with his Ultimate and Skill, this is a very complimentary Relic set.

Thief Of Shooting Meteor

This is one of the first Relic sets that you will get access to in the game via world drops, so it's a great starter set for Welt.

This boosts Welt's break effect by 32%, and with a 4-piece set, Welt will regenerate energy with each weakness break - allowing him to attack multiple times and stack more debuffs.

Planar Ornaments

Pan-Galactic Commercial Enterprise

This is the best choice for Welt's Planar Ornament set - it improves the effect hit rate by 10% (that's how often Welt will apply a debuff) and will also improve his attack based on the effect hit rate stat.

Considering the effect hit rate stat is the best for Welt, you want to be stacking this on your Relics.

Broken Keel

If you've reached the seventh World of the Simulated Universe, you can start farming another great set for Welt. If you have 30 percent Effect RES with Broken Keel, you'll give a ten percent Crit Damage boost to all your allies.

Apart from slowing the enemies down and Imprisoning them, this boost will allow him to become a great support for the DPS character in the team.

Here are the best main stats that you should be looking for on Welt's Relics and Ornaments:

Body

Effect Hit Rate (priority), although Crit Rate and Damage are good too

Feet

Attack percent

Planar Sphere

Imaginary damage boost

Link Rope

Energy Regeneration Rate

Overall, you're looking for Effect Hit Rate as a primary stat - it improves how often Welt is able to deal debuffs and imprison enemies with his Ultimate.

Secondary stats include Speed (for attacking multiple times if possible), Break Effect, and energy regen.

Let's see who goes well with this five-star character.

Best Light Cones For Welt

WElt

In The Name Of The World (5-Star)

This is Welt's personalized Light Cone, and although it's hard to come by, this is the ultimate goal for a Welt build. It increases damage dealt to debuffed enemies, and boosts his skill to improve effect hit rate and attack scaling.

Incessant Rain (5-Star)

You'll get a straight 24 percent Effect Hit Rate boost as soon as you put this Light Cone on Welt, which already makes it a great pick. You also have a chance to apply a new debuff on the enemies with your abilities.

If you attack an enemy with three or more debuffs - which is quite easy for Welt - his Crit Rate increases by 12 percent.

Good Night And Sleep Well (4-Star)

This 4-star Light Cone is essentially like a baby version of In The Name Of The World - it improves Welt's damage against enemies with stacked debuffs and applies Damage over Time effect. It fits really well with Welt's kit and debuff applications.

Resolution Shines (4-Star)

An alternative choice for Welt is this 4-star Light Cone, this gives every attack a 60% chance to Ensnare an enemy. Already Ensnared enemies have their defense reduced.

Eyes Of The Prey (3-Star)

Much easier to get your hands on, this 3-star Light Cone improves effect hit rate and any damage over time effects.

Light Cones can be found as you play, complete missions, and as you roll for Warps. Keep an eye out for any of these Light Cones and be careful when upgrading, as other Light Cones can be used as materials and destroyed as a result. You can find out more about Light Cones for each path in this list.

Welt Traces Overview And Priority

Welt Traces

Eventually, you'll unlock all the Traces available to Welt. As a priority, though, you want to aim for the Judgment bonus ability unlocked at Character Ascension level 4.

  • Judgment
    • Using your Ultimate will also regenerate 10 Energy.
    • This is super powerful as it allows Welt to attack more frequently and apply more debuffs.

Initially, though, you will want to pick up the other Traces available - like Retribution (available from Ascension level 1) and later, Punishment, available from Ascension level 6. These all require different materials to upgrade so don't be worried about upgrading them early. Grab Retribution when it becomes available, basically.

Level-up your skill Traces as you see fit - with a focus on Welt's Ultimate if you're running short on upgrade materials. You can earn more upgrade materials via running Calyx or sending characters on Assignments.
