Honkai: Star Rail has a roster of four-star characters that can deal great damage numbers, as long as they're built right. Serval is one of those characters So there aren't many good reasons for you to bench Serval, especially when she's free-to-play friendly, powerful, and fun to be around.

As a damage dealer, she'll want teammates to help sustain and protect her. It's also ideal to group her with characters who can buff her damage. Whether you're clashing against monsters in the Simulated Universe, or going into the Forgotten Hall, here are teammates that have the greatest synergy with Serval.

7 Natasha

Natasha's the best budget healer that can sustain your team through tougher enemies, granted that they're not the type to launch a strong attack on all your team members all at once during one turn. You'll eventually get her through a mission, which makes her first copy extremely accessible.

She's great at keeping squishier characters alive. Serval isn't known to have a great deal of defense—she's a damage dealer that scales off of attack, and that leaves her lacking when she's attacked by tanky enemies, so Natasha will be able to heal Serval through her skill, and everybody else in the team during her ultimate.

6 March 7th

March 7th aims her arrow at the enemy field in Honkai: Star Rail.

March 7th is our budget shielder, who deals some damage through her ultimate towards all the enemies on the field, and even though she can only provide a shield to one teammate at a time, her shield also functions as a counter function for her to attack. Should an enemy attack her shielded ally, she'll follow it up with a normal attack on that enemy.

She can also potentially freeze enemies through her ultimate, which can be useful if you want the horde opposite to you to stay still as they're all obliterated by Serval. So if you need protection and some damage, as well as an ice combat-type character, March 7th is your free-to-play option.

5 Trailblazer - Fire Type

Do you want to keep enemies away from Serval or any other teammate? The Fire Type Trailblazer is your best bet since they offer mild shielding. They're also able to taunt enemy attacks away from your teammates and onto themselves.

Not to mention, Fire Type Trailblazer is an absolutely great single-target damage dealer even if they're classified under the path of Preservation. If you're not using Caelus or Stelle, you definitely should since they're multipurpose team members.

It's a crime to bench the Trailblazer when they're absurdly powerful for a free-to-play unit. Aside from the mild shielding Serval can receive, Fire Type Trailblazer can also compensate and provide the single-target damage that Serval doesn't excel at.

4 Pela

Pela is classified under the path of Nihility, which means that she provides debuffs against the enemies. Some enemies are capable of buffing themselves by summoning other minions, but that's not going to be a point of concern when Pela is capable of removing one enemy buff while dealing Ice damage through her skill.

But the part of her kit that makes her a dangerous character is her ability to shred enemy defense for two turns. This ultimate, other than leaving enemies exposed, also deals ice damage which scales off of her attack.

Serval greatly benefits from Pela as a teammate, since she's finally able to deal killing blows on multiple enemies through Pela's abilities.

3 Bronya

Our noble captain of the Silvermane Guards, Bronya, is also a great provider of attack buffs. Through her skill alone, she's capable of dispelling an enemy debuff on her teammate, which allows her teammate to take one turn again, and her skill also increases that same ally's damage by a significant percentage.

That's good news for Serval, who might be a target of an enemy debuff which will make her hits weaker than they should be. Bronya's damage boost and her ability to let another ally take the front lines again through her skill is useful for Serval, especially when facing a hoard of enemies.

2 Seele

Seele is great at dealing single-target damage, but her talent allows her to cheat her way through and take another turn with her personal damage increased once she defeats one enemy. Although you might think that she's a one-woman army, and could take on a group if she's built right, she's a character who is on the path of the Hunt—so single targeting is really her specialty.

That being said, she usually couldn't one-shot bosses even if she's able to greatly reduce their health. She'll still need somebody to clear out minions or monsters that fight alongside bosses, and Serval is a great fit for her as a sub-damage dealer, as they have different combat types and are capable of dishing damage out in different, yet complementary ways.

1 Gepard

Gepard pointing his finger at an unseen interlocutor in Honkai: Star Rail.

Again, he's not here because they're siblings, but because they make up for each other's weaknesses in lore. Even in actual combat, Gepard does have his sister's back through his unbreakable ice shield.

He's a tank character, who has a bonus ability of having a higher probability of getting attacked by enemies. That might sound like a strange talent to have, but people who play him know that he regenerates energy once he's attacked by an enemy, which helps a lot with his shield uptime.

Serval is strong, but she's vulnerable to enemies that hit hard. Gepard tends to be a bruiser who offers his team great protection, and can even be the last character in your team standing since he revives the first time an enemy kills him—but he's not built for damage.

With these two side by side, they'll be able to produce consistent damage before anybody dies off.
